I believe this entry received more votes than I've ever gotten on a design before - and it still came in 4th place! Silly. Silly.

I gave you my vote so it'll stay in the fog. I promise you that I will buy it if it sells.

The bottom text still kills this design for me. I wish you could've been able to remove it. Regardless I hope the best for this entry.

If you don't mind me saying it, I'm one of the few haters of this design to be quite honest. Good art but stupid concept, in my opinion.

I don't this shirt either. While I like the art, I don't like the fact that the design relies so heavily on the text. Regardless, good luck! I know I would want to get printed if this was my shirt.

I have to say also don't like this shirt, and it is also because of the words at the bottom and the speech bubble. Without them I could see the shirt as a sort of "kids these days" commentary. Instead, the words imply a tone towards people who DO enjoy National Parks of stupidity and easy amusement.

However, I do immensely like the artwork and the style of the design! I would just like the interpretation to be a little more ambiguous.

See, I think it's nice to have, for once, a different stance than "kids these days". One can't even take that stance anymore and have an ounce of originality. The tone this one takes is snarky, yes, but I think it's also a swipe at people who go to national parks simply because, well, that's what you're supposed to do on a vacation and that's that. The fact that the dad is saying "a tree!" and not, say, "The legendary General Sherman sequoia, one of the largest living things on earth!" tells a lot of the shirt's story.

If you think about it, it could be ambiguous. The dad could be saying "It's a tree" because he's clueless, or he could be saying it because the kid won't look up from the screen long enough to know what a tree is.

True. That's why I think the text is a vital part of the shirt's humor. Without it, it's yet another "you darn kids and your technogadgets" statement, which, while often true, have been overused to the point where they're incapable of being pithy or funny on their own. With the text, it's a very funny shirt with far more layers to the humor than it'd have without.

Stupid! Like most shirts on Woot represent the pinnacle of modern society's intellect! This is a design that makes one think and the fact that there are so many interpretations shows that a chord has been struck by this one!

Hmm, I hadn't thought of it that way. I like that idea much better - really all I could see was this shirt making fun of people like me who like those vacations! Still probably won't get it, but at least I feel better about it.

The colors and the composition really make this work. This is one of my favorite designs you've done and I'm glad you're on your way to printing this. I think a lot of people will be very happy.

I love this shirt and have been checking for it to come up as the Woot Shirt of the day. Good luck, I hope you get something besides fame for all your hard work on this cool graphic.

Loved it and voted the first time, and it's still there. I can totally identify with that kid, and though I have fond memories of Colorado hikes there were definitely times where I wish my mom had let me bring my gameboy >.<

I guess the national parks derby was pretty popular, seeing as we will have three winners this weekend from it.

Still love this one as much as when you first submitted it Jewel. Easily my favorite of the national park designs.

Great design! I love the concept, though the bottom text kind of kills it for me. The shirt mostly seems very fun, yet the text seems oddly snarky and negative.
