this is another example of a good design that fits the derby, but why the heck would you want to wear this on a shirt?

I'm assuming the 2 "popped" chickens were in the sun too long?

I thought the turtles were going to print. This shirt was in and out of the fog fighting for fourth... no idea how it managed to pass the turtles shirt.

Was really hoping for the turtles...would have bought 3. No visual pun shirts for me! Those chickens are freaky looking.

I have bought so many shirts lately, exercising demons, who wants to live for ever and the mice and that doesn't include the 2 from last month. but these are a little weird ;-) I don't like the color either. how are the designs chosen?

i'll be hen pecked, i thought the turtles were gonna be next. guess i'll spend my $10 on SLINKEYS!!!!

This design was chosen because it placed third in the Derby, which runs every week with a different theme.

i have 2 main issues with this shirt:

1. the shadows under the chickens are all the same.

2. there isn't enough variation between the chickens to actually imply popcorn without having to explain (why isn't there one flying in the air with a surprised look on his face?)

trying to avoid the ramy/seki argument though i do usually agree with it.

I think the hard thing with clever puns is that they have to be spontaneous to be good, and the more levels they work on, the harder they are to translate visually. I personally scrapped an idea because it was 1. forced and 2. not clear without an explanation. Would not surprise me if other people had that problem as well. Alas. Boots' design was good in this regard so the derby was not a total wash, at least.

Indeed. According to ShirtDerbyStats, the turtles had 2 more votes than this one did.

I love that the one on the left looks pissed that he hasn't popped. I imagine it must be like constipation for the poor little guy. Insert clever popped/pooped pun here.

I for one like this shirt, as far as the mutant issue....has anyone actually made popcorn before? Because that is what it looks like so I think it was well done.

The design is not my favorite, but it is kind of cute. I would consider buying it, except the background color is not one I would wear.

Thank you, but I do not wish to have pictures of chickens with hemorrhoids on my chest. Shame I missed the mice, by far the best of this Derby.

the layout reminds me of "you guys gotta try this", what with the odd one out farther away, and on green, no less. still, i voted for it, i like it, and i may buy it. later today
