The idea is cute, but I'm not sure that people would get it just from looking at it... There was a KFC documentary on TV a few months ago talking about how the chicken they use are genetically modified... The "popped" chicks look more like genetic mistakes than popcorn =.=

Congrats Ramy . This design is super cute, and sure had a lot of fans fighting for it. The coloring work is great, there are a lot of small details that really make it shine.

It was a pleasure to be right up there with so many popular designers. Thanks to everyone for your support, it was a great run. (ironic since little turtles do not run fast)

You know you could've won. And maybe should have won. 9 more votes would've done it. Ramy's fans are notorious of having multiple accounts. 1 person even admitted having 10 accounts. Doesn't that just suxors!?

um, the person that admitted to having 10 accounts is NOT a RamySeki fan!!! If you remember right, the person that admitted to having 10 accounts used the 10 accounts to vote for Drakxxx, when it beat out that stupid pumpkin cat design (by 10 votes, I might add ).

And the person that admitted to having 10 accounts only used those 10 accounts when woot tried to screw Drakxxx with yet another questionable rejection while the pumpkin cat did NOT get the same treatment, when it was allowed to stay, even though it was virtually identical to the previous version that WAS rejected.

So, um, don't ever call me an RamySeki Fan! That's mean!

And, by the way, I'm sure that I'm not even close to the only one that has at least 10 accounts, I'm just the only one to openly admit it.

And really, I only gave those 10 votes when it was deserved after yet more questionable derby goings-on by woot. Most weeks, I don't even vote at all.

In the end, the right shirt (Drakxxxx) got printed, while the evil shirt (Seki) did not print. You should all be thanking me.

No shirts for us this weekend. I didn't care for any of the top four myself, but my wife would've loved to have the little turtles.

The one who failed to popped is ANGRY. He'll poof up one day though...

Not trying to butter anyone up, but the colors on this shirt really pop.

Cute, weird, and a little gross. I like. And the artist write up is excellent.

These chickens would make Colonel Sanders proud.

So, if microwaved would we get:

A.) Popcorn flavored chicken
B.) Chicken flavored popcorn
C.) Don't care because everything tastes like chicken

I woke up this morning planning to buy 3 of the turtles. Sad Sunday at the -Cat household.

I sort of want a popcorn ball now. A wriggling, clucking popcorn ball. They're the best.

I'm sorry, while I realize you are by far not the only person who uses multiple voting accounts, I think all multiple voting accounts are wrong and add to what is the problem with woot.

While I appreciate your attempt at judicious use of your extra voting, I think any additional voting is a problem, and while I agree that there are designs I prefer over others (for example I tend to favor designs by drakxxx versus sekiyoku), I don't know how I would make the determination that one design was more deserving than another. Though there are some designs that I and others would argue aren't worth the shirt they are printed on, gaming the system against them doesn't make the system more fair, it just hurts everyone.

It's cute but if I were to look at this design without the title I would have no idea what it was. It needs another visual cue. Jiffy pop sign? Corn popper barn? The color is odd but it could work if I knew what the picture was referring to.

i am So Torn about whether or not to buy this...

not to take the glory away from Ramy, but if anyone would like the turtles, I will get the rights back 60 days from submission. I'd like to fix them up a bit and perhaps print them at Zazzle or another site like it. My friend (also in the derbies) and I are considering doing this since we both have so many wayward Woot designs now.

So if anyone would be interested, just drop me a note via pm. I'd be happy to keep you updated. I wish Woot had a little area for artists do 'twitter' style updates on our work, that would be spiffy!

Congrats Mr. Ramy. I just watched the Troma movie "Poultrygeist" last night, so now this design is extra amusing.

Very close call for Bass. I liked your turtles a lot. I believe your time here at woot is right around the corner though, and we'll have the chance to get a shirt of yours soon!

I don't know what kind of popcorn you guys have been eating, but those just look like deformed chicks to me. At first, I thought it was a stab at KFC and their super growth hormone chickens with 5 legs.

Eh, it was a pretty close race overall throughout, and it was in and out of the fog for much of the derby.

All told, I'm sad that "Assault and Battery" missed out by ten votes, but this is an amusing, strange, and clever pun, and it lacks the usual issues I have with ramyb designs. I won't buy it, but I liked the design before and I still do.

In spanish, popcorn is "palomitas de maiz" (little doves of corn). I believe that that could have been a successful pun also.

Think I will have to explain this shirt too often. None for me!

That could have been interesting: popcorn coming out of the jiffy pop and up into the air and then turn into birds. Better than chickens with lumps.

YAY! I loved this shirt . . . my personal fave. I don't know why some other folks didn't love it as much . . . I liked the turtles, but was crossing my fingers for this one. Got mine!!
