redghia69 wrote:It would need to resubbed. I'm sure you can imagine the confusion it would create if designers were allowed to change the images after they'd been voted on. (heh, that could be kinda fun. for a while. but, no.) FYI, if you want to cancel this one, you're going to have to do it pretty soon because that little red X (the option to cancel) disappears 24hrs after you submit.

Good luck!

oh darn... oh well i guess i'll keep the same one up. (dont wanna lose my 15 votes!) haw haw haw. it wont look TOO much different anyway. thanks for the knowledge!

Awesome, recieved a compliment from someone in the fog!

A quick side note, I know the Earth has a different color of blue, I don't know how it happened, but its not that way in the print-ready file. I hope that doesn't get me rejected (not that I stand a chance of reaching the fog at this point, I just wanna see how far I climb), The blue in the water bucket, and scissors, is the right shade.

Re: Scientific Revolution

Awesome work and design.

Gotta add a quick correction. I looked up heliocentric theory for my design, to see if it came before or after the Protestant Reformation. Your quote is actually attributed to Galileo. Copernicus only published his heliocentric thesis the year of his death, mostly because he didn't want to be persecuted. He was never in bad standing with the Church, from what I understand. Galileo was the one who was put on trial.

Doesn't change the talent you have and how good it is. I'm not an expert, like I said, I just happened to look it up this week. Plus, my design doesn't stand a chance of reaching the fog.

Good luck, and congrats!

BTW, I bought Army in my Pocket...awesome shirt!

It's funny and all... but is it allowed? That is Jeff Dunham's puppet/character. Seems to me that it would probably not be allowed for the same reasons that I'm sure you couldn't put Mickey Mouse on there. Especially with his name there...

I may be wrong though... The previous week's winner had Mario Bros. and other popular characters...

They can't print gradients.

Honestly, I don't know why people don't read the rules before taking the trouble to create and submit a design.

I think I know why I like your artwork so much... it reminds me of non sequitur by wiley. Anyways, keep up the good work because I truly love seeing your entries. As for myself, I think I'll be taking a break from woot for a while (my brand of illustration doesn't seem to fit here). Thanks for your help with some of my earlier submissions and the advice you gave me. I'll keep watching the derby though (maybe even sybmit something once in a while) and if your pieces make it to the fog they'll be the first derby shirts I actually buy. cheers and good luck.

This is a second version of my Strike! shirt. A lot of people have been commenting that they like it more without the text at the bottom. If you like this entry more, please don't take back your vote for the other one. I'll ask Woot to remove the other one if this looks promising. Thanks.

John was a lawyer, and he defended the British troops in the Boston massacre when no one else would, not because he was a loyalist, but because he believed everyone deserved a fair trial.

Ah, your right, i forgot, well, thats a good sign, maybe by next month I won't remember any of this history stuff. Still off-topic though, just not off-topic enough to get rejected.

Re: regime change (resub)

I noticed you wanted a critique of sorts in the main derby thread:

As a concept, I think you hit a solid one. It's way more clever than the "L.O.L. FIST HOLDING A CONTROLLER" entries. I think where this one hurts, however, is in two places... firstly, the design looks flat... there's not really enough depth to the elements, so it feels like you just created the ultimate hamburger, and then replaced the patty with a hunk of tofu. I don't mean that as offense, but as to elaborate my point... the execution needs more "meat," so to speak. That and video game fatigue. If you posted Samus and titled your shirt "the metroid revolution," you'd get votes up the wazoo, but since your shirt is less slap-in-the-face, it requires a bit more cleverness to get. And trust me, many of us who are clever are VERY tired of videogames. in honesty, though, I think it's more the execution than anything.

Very smart, very well thought out, very creative. My family and I enjoyed figuring out each of the revolutions, and I love that it ends at the voting booth. One of the best designs in the derby.

It's not off theme, this is a classic neo-revolutionary strategy!
