Re: Get on the Mike

Check out my art deco-styled microphone. You can look at this shirt and imagine hearing old-timey news broadcasts and entertainment.

Re: Fallen Giant

Gorgeous work jewelwing! I think the only think you could do is to maybe add some fish...the bubbles do the job once you take a close look, but aside from some fish, I don't know exactly how you could make underwater more obvious...

Re: Construct

It's a cool design, no doubt, but once again, falls just short of the theme. It seems purely industrial...

Same problem I had with your Sonic shirt...great idea, but a noticeable flaw subtracts from it so much I just can't vote. It seems like you always quit 1 stop short of great. I know other Wooters disagree, because you do win a lot, but I just wish your designs didn't always have some fundamental problem.

This needs something else to make it art deco, something that takes it from industrial to fitting the theme.

jewelwing wrote:Thanks! It might be big on the shirt, but what I meant to show is that is should be printed as big as possible - giant! Or as giant as woot gets.

I did notice that it didn't look entirely like it was underwater, so I added the bubbles in the back. You do have to look at it a minute to tell tho. I'm open to any suggestions on how to make it look more underwater.

The Deco era is probably my all around favorite one, so I thought it would be cool and a little creepy to create a twist on the ship posters of the time. They drew them so strong and imposing then - Like it would be impossible for one to end up like this.

I like how it doesn't look like it's underwater at first. The sub lights look like spotlights for it's grand opening. Good stuff.

Re: The Bombs Are Coming Down

This is great, but you need to round off the clouds and fade out the spotlights so that it doesn't look like a rectangular picture placed on a shirt.

Still, I'd change the proportions, the flower (head? seeds?)is rather small.

I think it'd look better if you added a bunch more seeds instead of just making them larger, though.

Hmmm.

I definately agree, I thought the same thing when I saw this, the seeds just look like their cluster is too small for the size of the stem.

I like it a lot better without Poe in it, the raven and the design below it are far superior in style and composition. Wonderful!

Re: DC Deco

Good concept, but would be better if there was a more detail to the buildings. Lines and such maybe in grey. Art Deco kind of relies on that contrast between colors to really stand out.

My design is inspired by art deco style stained glass windows and paintings.
I wanted to create a design that was bold and geometric, but also colorful and stylish.

Re: The Baker

It pains me every time I drive by The Baker Hotel, to see it standing there neglected and vacant. The building is so intriguing even to this day. I heard that yet another investor is trying to get approval for renovation. I hope it will at least be retored enough for tours to start again. Very cool...
