tgentry, my only criticism would be: defend yourself less! once was plenty your design is awesome and one explanation is totally sufficient. you're way too nice, replying to everyone who thinks there might be some issue with potentially risking being in violation of one possible interpretation of the rules!
anyway, i'm glad it got clarified as OK by woot staff. definitely one of my favorite designs for the bag.

Why are the shirt tags all on the outside?

Nicely illustrated though...

1ass wrote:well, the rules should have said "one logo must be displayed without distortion, feel free to modify additional logos if it enhances the design" then. many other entrants certainly modified their own designs to fit what the rules stated.

better to ask forgiveness than to ask permission, that is the lesson for all to take from this.

The rules were vague and did not forbid the modification of aditional logos - no rules were broken. tgentry followed them as he interpreted them (and his interpretation was correct, as it turns out). If there was a problem, he would have accepted the rejection and resubbed. Just like everyone else. How is the lesson "better to ask forgiveness" when there is nothing to forgive? tgentry followed every rule.

I really hope this wins. There are some great designs in this derby, but this is by far my favorite. That octopus makes me so incredibly happy! If my shirts arrive in a bag bearing this image I am just gonna beam. I'd even put one of the bags on my wall at the office just to show it off.
I'm serious.

Total comic geek here, so this has GMV for sure.

Also makes me think that one of the next derbies ought to be "original super hero costumes"

Re: REVOLUTION IS NOW!

So I am sitting here in Cookeville, TN. My wife and I are enjoying the WORLD'S LONGEST YARD SALE! (google it, I'll wait)

So, this bag design needs your votes! How awesome would it be to get this bag in the mail. Everytime you flipped it over and saw those fists in the air, you could hold your head up high and know that you are the vital component for a fashion revolution. A revolution of graphic and visual goodness . . . a Woot shirt!

So are the "routes" on here actual great circles, or have they been fictionalized? Something has to make up for the choice of such a horribly area-distorting cylindrical projection!

This cartographic design major demands answers!
