Hmmm, assuming this is radiomode other account, then there will be nothing wrong with this design, since it IS his own design.

I dont know, is there unlicensed stock vectors in this design?

If it is not radiomode, then............

i was referring to the dragon tattoo design by "tikiti" which was also radiomode as he admitted it in the next weeks design. and also a number of other designs in the past that had unlicensed stock vectors in them, some rejected, some not.

if it is radiomode, why submit under a different name, different even from the second name he posted under in the tattoo design? there is something shady going on here.

Either this is Radiomode, or someone stole his design concept. This shirt sells on *edit* Design By Humans. I recognized the buildings, and with two clicks of the mouse I was looking at something eerily similar *edit* on DBH. Seriously, what the duck? Why all the alternate accounts and/or the recycling of designs? SoldoutD has printed before and is supposedly from Canada and Budi Kwan (Radiomode) is from Singapore. I don't like all this deception, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

So it is something that is carried around with the username, but not with the design itself (just being objective here).

Can someone please check if there is any unlicensed vector stock here?

Artists like tokidoki and tado reuse their characters over several design, and I dont see any problem with it. Mostly because their character are arranged differently or colored differently; but most importantly it is their character. So for me, I am ok with any kind of rearrangement and/or modification.

IF there is unlicensed stock here, then this design is pretty much doomed!

it doesn't sell at threadless if it's for sale at design by humans.

And maybe they're not the same person if they're not from the same place?

I find it AMAZING that Radiomode gets more unjustified scaffolding for his mistakes than most woot designers get for far worse and far more intentional transgressions. He's obviously had some pretty big missteps, and I'm not about to defend him on that, but I recall a lot of very unconfirmed and tenuous claims being used as the basis for a designer who is widely known for his quality. Yet designers whose reputations have never been clean and have no variety, no depth of content, are continually defended for it. I don't like stock vector art anymore than anyone else, but the hatred to transgression ratio, especially compared to the hacks that get forgiven every week, is just ludicrous to me. You're really trying to state that he'd have his payment check SENT TO CANADA, half a world away, for the sake of being deceptive?

If woot doesn't decide to do something with this during the 60 days they have it, you should really look at selling this to tourist boards in San Antonio, or at Washington-on-the-Brazos.

Done! I've done my googling and re-reading about radiomode and stock vector (I sure love drama).

From what I found over a span of almost a year, there were only 3 dramas with this stock vector thing (from previous comments above, I was actually hoping for like 10 cases or something).

The first one was something with dinosaur. Radiomode used copyrighted vector stock, which he admited of. He mentioned that he did not know that it was copyrighted. After some bitter comments, the drama died.

The second one was with some swrills and bird. However, this time he used a UNcopyrighted vector. He was not wrong, so Woot was printing his design. Bitter comments kept on pouring in. Some were very nasty too, at least for my standard.

The third was the one mentioned above (radiomode or tikiti?), with the tatoo. The design was rejected with the reason that the book from which the image taken was written in chinese (or japanese?), so no copyright can be confirmed.
However, I do have similar book in English. It was published by Dover book, and the dragon was not copyrighted (it said it is a public domain image). Unfortunately (or fortunately?) I was not here at the moment.

So my conclusion, from the 3 cases over a year (if anyone wants to add, pls feel free), there was actually only 1 real case where things goes unfairly. The case was the earliest on the series of drama episodes. The "bad" guy did admit his mistake.

Within this one year, radiomode won a few times, with designs without drama or stock vector.

Maybe my opinion is biased, since I do not object someone using public domain images. I believe EVERYONE has the power to access the resources and make use of them.

Just because someone manages to make some money from something that is freely available for everyone does not make that someone a thief.

However, the artistic value of the design made by public domain image is not something that I can judge. A gold is just a stone for a monkey. It will all depend on what can the monkey do out of it.

Re: House-o-cards_rs

Not sure if it matters, but I still see the "A" of the ace in the background behind the shirt comp.

More than that, though, this appears to me to be a photograph (taken of either a real stack of cards, or composited from real individual card pictures or scans), and could easily be rejected on those grounds. Especially obvious in the card back, a design impossible for me to decipher at this resolution.

Antonotron,

Woot rejects shirts with gradients in them, because they cannot print them.

But I do like your design, so please change your gradients to halftones and re-submit your design. But hurry up! because Woot stops taking submissions at 12:00 today.

Melted brains aside, this is a really good design, I'm just not sure if I'd wear it due to the blue on blue-ness. For me at least it takes a few seconds to seperate the blueprint from the baby blue of the shirt and I'm not sure I'd like people staring at my chest figuring out a shirt :P Anyways, it's very well drawn and cute and good luck :]
