What!? No Assault and Battery!? Hasn't that been in the fog since day 1???

This isn't up for voting anymore but I just like having this little dude in my signature =)

Wow Boots got two! We had fun discussing his/her entry about the sperm whales before the voting started.

Edit: Wait a second, the popcorn chicken entry just made it in two hours ago! How can both of Boots' entries not be in here? Somethings fishy.

Yeah, that's really unexpected. Assault and Battery and the Turtles must have really been neck and neck, because Boots's entry was in the fog just minutes before the closing bell.

Me too! Not sure about actually being able to print the whales for $10 as I can't access a computer till after 8pm Sat. Will get the mice one though.

Well that's a disappointing fog. The only design that someone over 25 could wear is Boots'. The rest are kiddie shirts (that both of my 12 year olds have already proclaimed to not wanting) or simply poorly-designed. Or both.

I am turning 26 in three weeks and I will wear the mice, whales and turtle shirts. I find them to be well designed.

Two asphalt shirts, two green shirts.
Two sets of mammals, two sets of non-mammals.
Two sets of odd-numbered animals, two sets of even-numbered animals.
Two white/gray animals, two bright colored animals.
Two fluffy critters, two rough-skinned critters.
Where am I going with this? Heck, I don't know.

Anyway, congrats to the finishers. It'll be interesting to see how accurate SDS is this time with the estimates.

well i am 31 and i will wear the seamen for damn sure, and the selling point on the turtles is a) its turtles and not the videogame/movie ones and b) the tippy one on the lower part of the shirt.

just because your body ages doesn't mean you can't keep having fun! age is a number, youth is a state of mind.

edit: by not stating anything about the other two i am not saying they are unacceptable, i just don't really need/want computer mice, and the popcorn chicken i think would just end up being an explanation shirt, meaning...

"i thought it was just chicks, but one has a bald bottom and the others are lumpy. is this cancer vs. chemotherapy?"

second edit: on second thought, i might actually get the shirt and go with my explanation. more fitting to my life than popcorn chicken.

Oh man. I have not bought a shirt in a long, long time, but I can not wait to get Boots' shirt! I am so excited to wear it.

Well, this is sort of disappointing. I was looking forward to a Boots-dominated weekend...those chickens kind of came out of nowhere, huh?

Anyway, will be very happy to buy sperm whales this weekend, and Boots, please let us know when/if you decide to put Assault & Battery love story elsewhere.

I veel. And thanks!

Congrats to everyone in the fog. I like the chickens.

Could we have a more generic fog? I mean holy Manos: The Hands of Fate (1966) people, 3 of the designs are the exact same concept with the exact same placement and the exact same style. The sperm whales are the only thing worth printing and even they aren't too far afield.

I think it's definitely time to drag the derby out behind the barn and hit it with a shovel.

I'm 27, and (in addition to the whales) I like the turtles. They're the type of cute that I like. And I usually don't like Ramy's style at all and even I enjoy the chickens. The only one I didn't like was the mice... I'd rather have seen Assault and Battery. But I usually can pull off cute... I own Cupcakeosaur and Nessie and Fat Unicorn, among others. And I am one of the few who actually likes the grass green shirt color, so that makes me more ok with the turtles/chickens.

Silverpsycho

I find it funny there's a set age for particular shirts. I wear what I like without caring what others think because if someone wishes to judge me based on my shirt, they're no friend of mine.

I'm not crazy about the whole pun thing and while I didn't vote for any of these shirts that fogged, I actually kind of like the popcorn chicken and the box turtles is fun as well. Plus BootsBoots' entry is seriously awesome but I'm trying to avoid asphalt and brown shirts since that's the majority of my Woot collection.

Congrats to the artists. :0)

I like them all for once. I like the whales the most. I think last nights south park made me want a whale shirt more. Also, I think green shirts are the Manos: The Hands of Fate (1966) and have no problem wearing them being an adult.

How are whales in a boat any less kiddie than the other designs? I would say that it is the most or at least right up there with popcorn chicken.

Most people probably don't want their kids wearing a semen joke on their shirt if only because they don't want to have to deal with the other parents' reactions.

I'm going to blame the distressed/weathered/worn look that the whale design has makes it look more "grown up", as opposed to the other three which have the ubiquitous "shiny" factor that can read as "made for children".

I'm an adult, and I'd have no problem wearing any of these. Yes, they're silly, but they aren't as child-like as if you were wearing a hello kitty shirt. And I've seen adults in those.

The whales are probably seen as more adult because of the joke, but without knowing the pun it would be fine for kids. I mean, if it was at a store on no one told you the joke, you'd probably never realize what pun was being illustrated.

I do like the box turtles. And the whales (minus the pun). But, I think I am just going to pass this time. Too many other expenses right now. And I have 4 new ones I have not even had a chance to wear as yet. I am running out of closet space!

oh well, congrats and all

omninull

Puns, like the Art Deco derby failed for me.

Well, not including the Sperm Whales. It's an amusing pun, but just not something I'd wear.

Swing and a miss! At least this is a good gauge of the reliability of shirtderbystats when the numbers are that close (this is the first time I've used it to guess who was winning).

They're off when the contenders aren't close, too, but in that case, twenty votes doesn't mean anything in terms of finishing order. They've had the count off by a lot more than that.

I think part of how they get numbers is from the hotness, and if designs aren't in the hotness, they're just guessing what's going on within the fog.
