Guess what? Adder isn't the only one who is sick of the pandering. Screw you too, ****.woot. Bye.

It is no worse of form than Adder himself uses on a regular basis. What's good for the goose . . .

Woot has always been about pandering. Before shirt.woot was even a thought in Snapster's mind, regular old woot.com was around for techy geeks and dorks who liked cheap electronics. That it has birthed this site and all the artsy-fartsy whining that comes with it is the only reason to abandon ship that I can think of.

You know...I love Woot. I love Kids, Sellout, Wine and the original site. But Shirt Woot is awful. Shirts are never funny and seldom clever. Sorry Woot, love you guys but your shirt designers stink.

I'm just curious, when did Woot stop selling American Apparel tees?

There's nothing at the bottom of the shirt.woot page or in the FAQ about selling AA shirts anymore.

Are you for real?? There are a lot of great artists here representing many different styles of illustration.

Their designs are in response to the derbies requirements and rules and their designs are voted on by the people....

You could really love a design, but if it doesn't place in the derby, it doesn't automatically mean that every other design stinks...

... it has more to do with your opinion, than it does with the artists designs...

Yep! Because it doesn't matter what the majority thinks, only what you think!

I don't stop at shirts as much as I use to but it's funny. The same "artists" bitching, whining and feeling sorry for themselves as always.

Is it USB? They're great for Library Thing.

It really disturbs me how negative and hard to please people are at times.

I personally liked this shirt and thought it was drawn well.

Ryfiel

The one on the left should be a serial port, instead of a PS/2 plug to be truly old.

Every single time a shirt sells out, we get the same deluge of "Darn! I wanted to buy it!" posts to the forum. Couldn't that be easily fixed?

Any chance that, for shirt.woot, the "SOLD OUT!" on the main page could be changed to "OUT OF STOCK UNTIL MIDNIGHT" or do something else that indicates the shirt will go back on sale at midnight? And keep "SOLD OUT" for Reckoned and Random shirts?

I guess that may be too much coding, but it seems like it would alleviate a lot of confusion.

Why is it so wrong for woot to print shirts people will buy? So you don't happen to like cute shirts. Doesn't make me a moron or an Dr. Clayton Forrester because I do. This shirt makes me laugh. It is my first shirt purchase for me in a long time because I will wear it. I hope the box turtles and the popcorn chicken print as well, because then woot will have gotten 30 dollars from me this weekend and I will be happy, too.

Been saying that for a while myself. I have many of the more artistic designs but I am more likely to buy the funny designs, like Zombie Candy Corn for myself and my husband or the cute designs like Happy Bento for my daughter. When shirts sell out in half a day, there is obviously a demand for them. I wish people would quit expecting Woot to stop printing shirts that are popular and that are making money. This is a shirt SELLING site after all. People should vote for things they'll buy (which many people must have done for this one) and buy the ones they like.

I'm perfectly fine with cute shirts, provided they're well designed. This one isn't as egregiously bad as "Mai pumpkin", but its appeal (while clearly present, given its sellout) does elude me. People call the design "cute", and I wonder where they see it.

But then, Michael Bay's movies make money too. Not everything can be answered.

I'd hope that woot gives some credence to quality control. They could just rip off IP like we see on Teefury frequently. They could just choose more "Yay Broccoli!" (which sold out) type stuff for dailies. For the most part, they don't.

They called out seki last week, so they're just evening the score.

And if the best insult you can muster is "'tard", you don't deserve to parody Bob Dylan.

To be honest, other than the kewpie snark (which let's be honest, could be taken as a snark at seki as well, since we all know how I feel about the term "artist" being applied to some people), I see nothing in the write-up which I consider being called out. If anything I see a whole bunch of snarking re: the ease of cutesy scaffolding succeeding in the derby, and possible veils in the artist description, which all seem to take a certain non-me someone to task more than I.

Interesting, the last shirt to say "The Woot Tee, constructed by American Apparel" was this one. This was the one after it.

I would presume they're still american apparel T's though.

The Blues Clues shirt I bought (from the Blue derby) says it was made by AA.

The majority voted for George W. Bush in 2004.

And since woot votes are so wide spread that it's doubtful that anything gets close to a majority, here's a more apt comparison: Date Movie and Epic Movie made profits of $28 million and $18 million, respectively.

No, I'm not likening this shirt or Seki to Dubya or the Friedberg/Seltzer. I'm merely pointing out the silliness of that defense.

i can't believe i missed this one...what a fantastic design. not the day to be away from the computer! hopefully, will see in the reckoning!

guess what: I bought this shirt. I don't do that very often. So it must have been pretty damn good to earn my business (and it was!)
I really dig the process by which these are chosen, and always look forward to the new shirt each day.

Why is it silly? What you seem to also be suggesting is that our election process is silly and only you, or people thinking like you, should have an opinion on who the President should be. With jackass we have now, I agree that people have no clue what's best for them and even tho the majority made a horrible choice, it's still the process.

As for the movies, I would have never went to the theater to see something like that, much like I'd probably never pay $30 for a shirt on woot.

What I fail to see is why people stay here that aren't happy? It's too easy to leave, avoid, ignore a site that you don't like rather than driveling on and on. I don't like everything that wins but it doesn't eat at my very soul like several people here. Honestly woot should just tell those people to shut up or pack up and not come back.

I'd really like to know the answer to this as well. It's important.

I think this shirt is adorable. I'm still pondering buying it, but the only reason I'm pondering is because I just went out and bought a lot of pretty badly needed new clothes a couple of days ago and spent a LOT of money, and I can't come up with any good reasons to justify another $15...

Grats to the artist on the print! Really well drawn. =)

My comments were related to individuals that seem to have a major problem with woot. Everyone will complain and no one will remain happy but there's a point when an individual becomes a distraction to business.

I have been in a situation where I had someone continually complaining about a product but kept coming back and expecting something discounted or free. Eventually it came down to telling them that if they didn't like our product, I'm sorry and suggested that they start purchasing elsewhere because it appeared we're not meeting their expectations but we're done with the complaints.

It sounds as though you've never been in authority to deal with or had to deal with chronic situations or abusive customers.

Even worse with the situation here is that it's people not buying and having issues with the quality of a purchased product but complaining about what they don't have to buy.

I play MouseHunt too! XD

I bought my own shirt for two reasons: 1) I thought it was awesome and 2) I hang out in computer labs all the time (I'm the unofficial tech support in my house)

Unfortunately, I'm still waiting for mine to ship...it's been about a week since I bought it.

edit: Yay! I just got my shipping tracking number!
