How is saying other people have similar styles stretching something to fit a personal vendetta? Comprehend that a little bit more and it's more than obvious it has nothing to do with a personal vendetta. Or are you the only one who has your opinion? If not, don't be so conceited, not everything is about you. That's like me saying you bash X designer and I think you are targeting that towards me. Uh, no.
Every designer has similar styles, some more than others, but if it aint broke for them, why are they going to fix it? Should Jackson Pollock have painted something other than what he did? (not comparing the artists here). It's a style that you personally do not like, but if many do, and keep voting for it, then why in the world would Ramyb change it? Purely logically speaking here. Again, if it aint broke don't fix it. He didn't just submit one design in this derby, so he did one with something that wasn't' broke and tried another style in another. Nothing wrong with that.
And for me to point out the similarities would be pointless because you would just disagree and stretch things to prove your point as you always do. It's obvious you have a very strong bias against two specific designers, I would respect your opinion more if you had consistency across the board instead of such a narrow target. THAT is your personal vendetta.
Actually the fail statement was associated with the rest because you are defending ramy. If you aren't defending ramy that means you actually care about the other artists who aren't being criticized for overusing a particular style, and you would be putting together a set of images in support of that. But you don't actually care because you are here trying to defend ramy. The only other option is that you are just trying to attack me and you don't care about ramy or any other artists and that's just sad.
Style is a way of drawing, painting, etc. Pointilism is a style. Impressionism is a style. Sketching is a style. What is not a style is the elements in the design and how they are placed on the canvas, shirt, etc. I don't know of a style called shiny swirlies sweeping up the side of the canvas.
This is not just style. This uses ramy's style and so does his "Here comes Santa Claus" design. The way they are executed and placed is very different but they are both recognizably "ramy."
What we have here is the repeat not only of style but of the execution and placement (being swirls sweeping up the side of the shirt) with a few elements mixed up be it the snowflakes or the bird or the fish or the dragons, etc. Had you read my post you'd realize that Drakxxx uses a sketching style, but he rarely draws the same things in the same way and places them on the same part of the shirt.
Again, if I'm wrong, prove it. You can pretend that it's a wasted exercise because you think I'm as close minded as you are but what of everyone else? There are a lot of people who read the threads. Show them. I've put out the shirts that I believe are too similar. The important part is that they are out there for everyone to judge as they see fit. Funny, that you are resistant to doing the same thing.
