I'm getting a retro vibe on it too ala Partridge Family or the old NBC Peacock. 2 things though I wish the thumb portrayed a little more of the piece and less text, and the blue for the body looks a little off to me. I know I know peacocks are super cobalt but maybye shifting to a blue with a little more green tints to it, it's been my experience that blues in that range have poor color fastness on a non based white shirt (lots of shirt fibralation and a funky problem with the pigment particles as they pass through the screen). Anyways nice piece.
I actually tried a traditional color set with this and felt there was a disconnect with the green, turquoise and cobalt. I had this need to add purple (possibly as a 4th color) and I spent an hour messing with the hues. I decided on this, because I wanted something that stood out from head to tail, and the combo of purple and turquoise make a big impact with the space it takes up, so the bird, itself, needed to be just as vibrant and strong. It balances the design this way.
As for the thumbnail, I already commented on that above. It would have lost impact if I shrunk it for the thumb.
I'm glad you like it, though.
