Re: Sullen

This is pretty fly for a white guy (shirt, that is)

I dont normally dig Kdeuce designs, but this dragon is pretty damn sweet. Very nice.

Thanks! I started with just the pixel work and almost fell into a video game reference trap. The color scheme was embarrassingly inspired by a Powerpoint color scheme.

dietotaku wrote:SONOFA-- i swapped the rat and the rabbit, didn't i? i'll have to fix it and resubmit when i get off work.

I mentioned this in the earlier thread, but the ox isn't super compatible with the rat. Compatibility is maximum between animals that are four apart (i.e. three between). Rat and ox are beside one another, so they don't have max compatibility. The other two are correct; the ox, snake and rooster are all part of th second trine.

If you want to fix it but would like three in the bubble, consider putting the ram in with a big red X or something (maybe the no-smoking circle/slash). Signs that are directly opposite (four apart) are incompatible.

Re: Lantern Lights

Hi all,

sorry for the late reply! Thank you everyone for your lovely comments . I've always liked Jasneko's designs, and she was kind enough to let me collab with her for this derby! This was a lot of fun to work on and I'm really happy you guys like it!

Thanks so much again, Jasneko, for the opportunity! Good luck little lanterns!

This is one of my favorite designs. Ordinarily I'd probably not be keen on white, but I love it with this print. If they sell it, I will buy.

Re: 2012: A Collision of Calendars

2012 is the year of the dragon with water as the element of that year. The Mayan calendar ends in 2012 bringing speculation that the year will bring devastation to our world.

that's a possibility... i kind of like the idea of a "yes, yes, NO" trio. i just noticed the highlight on the arrow should be white instead of black, too. jeez, that'll teach me to rush to get something submitted before i go to work. x__X

Re: Lantern Lights

My favorite part is how the animals wrap around the sides of the lanterns. And the color scheme is so perfect, warm but vibrant at the same time. And the layout on the shirt flows really well, drawing your eye down the line of lanterns. Basically this design rocks and I just absolutely love it!

I think this this piece really shows off the talent you both posses. I'll be cheering it along, hopefully all the way to the fog and then to printing.

Laureenmt wrote:He's eating Haagn Dasz ice cream?

You often see the classic "lonely, usually unattractive woman upset no one loves her" archetype gorging on ice cream. In this case, Dragonella is sad that her fat stubby back legs make dragonmen never give her a second glance. Some day she'll tone up. If she cares to make the effort. But then, why bother making the effort, it'll always just end up the same way no matter what she tries.

jasneko wrote:Thanks Jabber! Glad we made that last minute decision then. It did look good on cranberry as originally intended, and navy too, but as you said - the lanterns really popped on the black. Totally a whim to see how it looked on it, but it worked!

In the initial stages, Bass actually did another kind of coloring with darker dragons and more yellow in the lanterns that created a very interesting mood but the animals were less noticeable. Could be a whole different piece;)

Thanks jabber!

it would be my first black woot tee. and my first jas tee. my first bass tee (i think?). pretty stoked! you two have been close a few times. the time is now!

Re: Tiger Rule

Here's to the Year of the Tiger (I'm bias since I'm a tiger myself)! I'm hoping a tiger shirt takes top honor - although I'm loving some of the dragon ones too.

The colors used - 1) orange, 2) brown, 3)light gray, 4) yellow, 5) purple and 6) green. Black is my "unofficial" 7th color. Thanks for looking.

Some people never wear leather pants. Some people avoid animal print like the plague. Me? I just don't wear argyle. But just because I don't wear it doesn't mean I don't appreciate it. I hope that clarifies for you!
