Thanks for the compliment! I've never been in the fog so this is very exciting. I hope you have a chance to get them too!

I like the quotes. They are among my favorites from Romeo and Juliet. The date is a nod to when the events took place. What colors would you suggest? Thanks for the feedback!

Re: A Recipe Fit For a King!

My Entry for the Shakespeare Derby!

A "recipe" take on the 3 witches brew from Macbeth. Serves One King! I skipped a few of the ingredients, and compiled a few into one but for the most part all of the ingredients are there!

hahahah... but my asking who's who makes me think of Rosencranz and Guildenstern

This is hilarious. Well played.

Very cool!
I'd like this one with the corrections mentioned in the discussion. I suppose if you're going to wear a shirt celebrating literature, it definitely needs to reflect literacy.
(I hope I haven't made any grammatical or spelling mistakes in this comment)

Very nice illustration. I like that you did it on heather gray, as well. Good luck!

I went ahead and re-submitted a version without text because it is better, so vote for that one please! I'd really like it!

Thanks in advance.

An eggy take on the classic tragic love affair. This is my first design done entirely in Photoshop. Wasn't as easy as in Illustrator, but it's all in 6 separate layers... whew!

This is really a fantastic design. There are always good designs, but this one has it all. A cool idea inspired by a great line.

Ohgodthatistoodamncute.

And I squeed on seeing the thumbnail and title ("Ooo, lookit, nutshell!"), and I was an English major, and Hamlet is the MAN.

Yeah, GMV all right.

stupididiot wrote:I didn't think the face on the cherry really added much. It was cute, but I thought some people would prefer it without. If it prints, you can mail me your shirt and I'll draw one on just for you.

As for placement, I'm open to it being placed anywhere on the shirt, I just preferred the low placement as it is a long/tall design.

nooooo you must put the face back on the cherry!!

Manvyi wrote:Knowest thou me?

*ding* We have a winner. "Dost thou know me?" would also be correct, but I like Manvyi's better--after all, "brevity is the soul of wit."

That's now two typos in this shirt. Please resub with grammar and punctuation fixed.

(Mods, why the hell was this post deleted the first time? Pointing out an obvious flaw in a shirt without any caustic comments seems completely kosher...)

"If drinking is bitter, change yourself to wine." -Rainer Maria Rilke

"Champagne is a very kind and friendly thing on a rainy night." -Isak Dinesen

This entry is pretty much a reverse tragedy; the audience suffers and the purveyor enjoys.

Nah, it's probably just an idle threat. I don't think moles really have the ability to carry out any complicated plan of retribution.

Re: Know your bard.

Manvyi wrote:"utter it's name"?

*twitch*

Argh! Rogue apostrophe! Kill it!

Also, kylemittsikus is correct--and added a comma I'd like to see, after Renaissance. It's not strictly necessary, but I think it'd be an improvement, especially between two nouns.

Otherwise, loving this! Resub?

Got this idea from my wife. She's British, and they tend to put a "y" on the end of nouns to turn it into adjectives. As in, "Not tonight, honey, I feel all floppy."

Hating Shakespeare should be punishable by taking the place of a whack-a-mole. :P

Re: Food of love

The full line is, "If music be the food of love, play on...that the appetite may sicken and so die."

This line is always misrepresented, even though it's the opening line of the play.

The final reincarnation of this design. Replaced "Birdy" with a more recognizable and friendly character. 6 colors on royal blue.

It shows up fine on black.

That red seems a lot brighter than this one. On the other hand, if this red is too bright, the background words will start to drown out the foreground words, I think.

I like the other colors, but I prefer it with the new text. Guess I'll just have to vote for both.
