Agreed, very similar in concept... In this designs defence it is quite a bit more complex and involved, but quite similar... Fairly generic comparison to make between the sun and the lion...

In the future, do not use special characters in your derby title. It causes the quote to truncate as seen above. The " got you on this one.

Since it's still early, you might consider removing this one and resubmitting without the " in the title. The quoted picture is kinda free advertising in the main derby thread.

Re: Violated

Three victims of breaking and entering, these three bears exhibit three emotional reactions to the state of their home. From porridge, to chairs, to beds, this family will never forget the day they lost the feeling of safety and security in their own home.

The beautiful implementation of ink and paint could not have been possible without the selfless efforts of megsck. Thanks so much!

Re: Third Wheel

This is awesome! does hit rather close to home though, but maybe that's why it's awesome. Very well detailed tires, yet not too busy. The spare tire is almost always guaranteed to be the third wheel.

I'm not a fan of the long-eared alien design being on there, if something more in line with the other two forces (such as something not living) were on there I'd totally want this.

Anyone ever been or from overseas in countries like Australia, UK, or HK where there's a phone company called Hutchinson's? Well, their logo came to mind immediately when I saw this and spirit's entries. Nothing wrong, but it was very interesting. I like both though.

It was supposed to be a Star Wars reference. I was going for abstract to avoid copyright issues. Maybe it's less obvious than I thought...

Re: T.K.O.

Huh? Did I actually finish this in time?!?!

6 colors on black.

The premise of the design was a TKO- which is often when a fighter is knocked down three times (I grew up playing Punch-Out so I thought it literally meant "triple knock out" until my wife corrected me). I couldn't figure out what to make fighting exactly- then A-HA!- a Triceratops! Of course!

I hope you like it.

ps Thanks Odysseyroc for the tip on including some impact sweatsplosions!

i love this design, wish it was getting more votes! maybe it needs more 300 quotes...

"A thousand nations of the Persian empire descend upon you. Our arrows will blot out the sun!"

"Then we will fight in the shade!"

Re: Morning Noon and Night RESUB

I realize why you made this resub, but I didn't think there was anything wrong with your first submission. The sun waking and eventually witnessing the transformation in the end had more of a flow. this one feels a bit disjointed. It reads well enough that the sun sets, but then it's like the moon suddenly shows up to see the horror. and I like how the romantic stroll works in the first one. the couples movement from left to right against the suns movement from right to left read a lot better for me. I'm gonna stick with my vote for the first one... but again, I realize why you did this.

I really like your quirky sense of humor. also, it took me a while to realize the girl turns into the werewolf. nice twist!

I got a few requests to switch the first and second panels, and now that I have, I think it works pretty well.

Thanks, guys. Also, here are some close-ups:

Yeah, I guess there's no pleasing everone. I liked my original submission as well, but it wasn't doing great and I got almost as many requests about the layout as I did compliments for it.

Resubs are so unnerving for me. O_o

Three legged Martian aliens who converged in a group of three, are they friend or are they foe? On Mars, no one can hear you scream, except for maybe Moscow.

It has recently been discovered that the former USSR had several lunar landings as well as a Martian landing. Little is known about these landings but some evidence points to foul play on the unsuccessful Martian landing, where several cosmonauts and their faithful cosmodog, Laika, failed to return from a routine walk on the Martian Surface.

Enjoy.
