This is the first time I've tried using halftones in a design, I'm not sure how I feel about them yet.
For illustrator users how do you make gradients for complex shapes? It seems almost impossible with just using radial and linear gradients.
You can always use a gradient mesh instead of radial or linear gradients.
Also, you should play with the angle of your halftones. I find that a 45 degree angle seems to make them look better.
I typically work in photoshop, and I find that It is easier to make gradients with the tools it provides.
