Staff

Time again for another march toward t-shirt doom! Discuss this week's life-or-death struggle for sales supremacy as chronicled on the Reckoning page all week long.

Here's how the Reckoning week runs now: every Tuesday at midnight, we retire the previous week's lowest-selling shirts and launch this here discussion thread. Tuesday around noon we'll post the all-new, all-early Reckoning Recon. On Friday, we'll juice demand and prime the pump with a little weekend reminder post. Finally, on the following Monday, the Day of Reckoning post sounds the last call for the Reckoned shirts. All of those posts will be linked below. Monday night (or Tuesday morning), it starts all over again. The Reckoning, she is a hungry beast...

Looks like WootBot is back at work again. Where were you 12 hours ago, when you were supposed to report for work, huh?

And there sure ... oh, forget it.

Randoms = previously reckoned shirts, so no, she won't get any.

However, if you did abide by "the rule" and bought three, there may be a coupon that you can use this week ...

... which that one sale might bump your's down to 21st.

Uh oh, dilemma ...

Ramyb sure does know how to make all the artists aside from Patrickspens look like fools here.

He came dangerously close to having no shirts in the reckoning one week(one sale away), missing a couple derbies, not placing in a couple derbies... and then BAM! He decides he wants some Woot money again and dominates.

Now, he has 3 designs that will be solidly in the reckoning for a little while (at least 2 of them will be) plus a collab which will last awhile too.

Wooters, he has you wrapped around his finger!

Does anyone's "Epic Battle" shirt have a visible square outline around the design? It's visibly lighter than the rest of the shirt's color. Looks discolored. Was this just a bad printing job on my shirt?

Since I got a print in the reckoning your regular posting of the charts and related numbers has proven really useful Narfcake. While I’m away on holiday, internet access is intermittent, so to check in and see how things are progressing at the same point each day is great. Thanks.

Speaking of stats...."playful foxes" was the most lady-friendly at 0.20%....Am I reading that right?
2/10ths of one percent ?!
2 out of 1000 shirts were in lady's sizes?
Also, "Tortiller[sic] Origami" shows 0.16% kid's sizes. That's 2 shirts out of all current sales (1250±).

Are those numbers correct or is something amiss?

Bragging rights only applies from the beginning of this reckoning, so in the case of Playful Foxes, 0.20% of 2999 = 5.998, or 6 shirts. Meaning all 6 sales thus so far (since last night) have been women sizes. And indeed, that also means that two of the Tortilla Origami sales (since last night) are kids sizes.

A lot of women buy men's sizes, preferring the longer, leaner look.

LOL and they switched places again. I think Pie(rate) Chart and maybe some of the other n00bs have a good chance of escaping and pushing us both down. =P

Edit: Weird. I'm not sure why but it seems like Hug only needs to sell a coupe to pass Foxes, even though Foxes is selling better currently... I guess Hug has a better sells rate the two weeks it's been up, to Foxes four week sells?

Yes. If you look at the numbers yesterday, Hugs outsold Foxes for the week, giving an advantage in the daily averages. The week before, Foxes wasn't all that strong either.

Random personal woot musings in the reckoning thread.

My first shirt purchase was Music is Life on 6/29/10. Since then, I've bought 22 shirts for myself, the last being In the Library with the Wrench on 6/10/11. I've bought 4 shirts as gifts, and bought a total of 14 random shirts over 6 purchases. All in all I've purchased 40 total shirts from shirt.woot over the course of one year. So I'm averaging .77 shirts a week.

Out of the 40 shirts I've purchased, only three are in the reckoning right now: In the Library with the Wrench, Unstealthiest Ninja, and Acquired Taste (which was a gift).

My favorite artist(s) is/are Drakxxx/CrescentDebris, having purchased four of their shirts (Rock Paper Dragon, Lost Already, Monster Hunter, and Audio Mythos). Although I think Monster Hunter was a solo Drakxxx creation. I've also purchased four patrickspens' creations (Robot Zombies, Thunderbird, Acquired Taste, and Fate of the Planet) but only 3 were for me, again Acquired Taste was a gift.

I sure did. I'm a tall woman so the women's sizes usually hug me too tightly and Woot said to buy larger so I skipped straight to the men's sizes.

The results of my audit ... 85 total, 74 different designs, 47 are definitely keepers, the rest I won't mind trading out.

25 are food related. 8 are still in the current reckoning.

Artist count ... 8 are by Wences, 5 by Patrick, 5 by Robbie, 3 by Tristan, and 3 by Alison. The rest are 2's and 1's.

That's just the outline of the shirt board that gets pressed on there during printing, once you wash the shirt it should fade away completely, if it doesn't just take a pic and email your friendly Woot service department and they'll get you squared away.

How is it that Pie(rate) Chart, with nearly 3500 in sales in a week, has not managed to claw its way out of the Danger Zone yet? I expect it will in the end, I'm just surprised it's still stuck there on the eve of the Derby winners going on sale.

I give up trying to figure out what really determines a shirt's sales rank. I'm sure it involves chicken blood somehow. And madness.

WIR: Weeks in Reckoning
TS: Total Sales
DDS: Debut Day Sales
WOS: Woot-Off Sales
DESD: Days Elapsed Since Debut
TWAS: Three-Weeks Ago Sales
DSBR: Days Since Beginning of Reckoning
DSR: Daily Sales Rate

If WIR < 3, (TS - DDS - WOS)/(DESD-1)=DSR
If WIR > 3, (TS - WOS - TWAS)/(21+DSBR)=DSR

... then sort by DSR.

(... and now you know why I don't even try calculating for that anymore either).

It continues to amaze me that 'The Binge" has so many thousands and thousands of copies out there, but I have yet to see one.

Is it going to be like one day I'm not seeing it anywhere, then before you know it; every man, woman, and child is wearing one?

Poison is down a spot, and at it's sales trend, might slip down another one before this week is up. The Binge is still selling very well. Shelf Life, along with Red Summer Skies, are showing signs of weakening. Playful Foxes is pulling a lead now over Hugasaurus Rex. And three noobs are selling well enough to have a chance of escaping the danger zone.

Perhaps, there's more of a "Sliders" situation waiting to happen, where Bluejester, and Jerry O'Connell will transport to a world where everyone is wearing The Binge shirt.
