Re: Sacrifice

I honestly think the thumbnail is holding it back!

This is so beautiful but the thumbnails suggests that there is only a fire and I didn't think it was interesting enough to click.

The snowman is by far the best part of this design, he should be the focal point of the thumbnail.

Re: Snowboarding? v2

Muuuuuuch better! The brown killed it!

When making color schemes, it's a good idea (in my opinion, at least) to think about contrast. Not only in light colors versus dark colors but in complimentary colors, like orange and blue, yellow and purple, etc. That method doesn't always work, but it's a good jumping off point.

Re: White Nights (resub)

It's so much better on white. But I have one criticism for the design: The box outlines are the only lines in your piece and while I love the hand-drawn quality, I wish all of the boxes weren't a pretty much identical shape. It would be nice if there was more variation. Just a thought!

But I do wish the snowman was a little more animated and a little less realistic.

Didn't see the other one, but I like the coloring in this! I especially like the abbreviated background, it's just enough information without overwhelming the foreground.

I'll admit that I don't typically go for your usual stuff, but the painterly effect here is really done very well. I like the style a lot, and hope you might employ it again in future designs?

Please don't take this as an attack on the design, which is cute enough, I suppose, if you're into that kind of thing.

I'm simply curious about the massive appeal of "sequel" shirts here at Woot. Personally, I just don't get it. Do people really build a whole wardrobe of t-shirts that look relatively similar (or almost identical, depending on the artist/concept)? Whatever happened to variety being the spice of life?

Such a great concept! Living in the Inland Pacific Northwest, we look forward to those little green shoots through the snow! I would absolutely love to see this printed - I'd wear it all the time! Well done, indeed.

Super Cool design!! And, I love the idea of the snowman making the ultimate sacrifice for the joy of a roasted marshmallow. ...This definitely needs a better thumbnail! Had no idea there was such an amazing snowman in the picture until I hit the "VIEW RANDOM ENTRY" button.

Thank you, omar I tried to make this look a little different than the other cute bunnies, though in this derby I think the other ones all have something different about them. I've been working on my color skills so I'm glad the colors look good!

Re: Look Up

OK, so while folks are busy ragging on Boots for 'incorrect' snowflakes, I suppose I should point out that the snow on the branches would, in reality, be along the branches and not on the tips. But, like Boots' sub, this is so pretty - who cares? Hoping for that first print!

Why does Hollywood produce so many sequels/prequels? Why are so many shirts made that ref other people's IPs? Because familiarity breeds comfort and sequels generally have a built in audience. People also like to collect things, as evidenced by the sales trends of cute animal or food shirts.
I also really enjoy it when a sequel builds on the original. I just watched the new Sherlock Holmes movie and I loved it, way more fun than the first and I really enjoyed the first. The movie also gets to go right into the action as the characters were introduced and developed already so they don't have to waste time doing it again.

Re: Heart Warmed

Awww, charming! My current faves to watch in winter are the titmice - such clowns! But the chickadees are always cute. My one quibble wouldbe the eyes - they seem less cute and more peering about suspiciously, to me. Love the comp overall, though.

I LOVE THIS SHIRT!!! When I saw this I was so excited to have the sequel. I own the original and was my first Shirt Woot purchase. I wear it on a regular basis and really hope this one makes the cut so I can add it to the collection.

A wise man once said, "You dance very well, but you squeeze too tight."

The snow is along the branches, you can notice that on the upper section of the trees. But don't worry, maybe you got dizzy looking up(it happened to Anemality too) and though the snow was on the tips. But hey, don't quote me on that, I live in a tropical island, so, what do I know about snow.

Happy Holidays and thanks for voting (you voted right? Right?............Are you there?)
