Popeye's tattoos have a history of coming to life, in that respect, I created a design with an iconic Popeye symbol, a can of his favorite "green stuff" seemingly leaping off his arm...

Um. That's not a tattoo. That's showing you what's happening inside his arm. It's showing that after he ate the spinach, his muscles warmed up and got more powerful. It has nothing to do with a tattoo.

I think this one would look better without the yellow behind the red. It makes it look too busy. Otherwise...I like the red part a lot.

Oh, gods, this is heartbreaking. I clicked on the link and now I'm just sitting here, staring, getting more and more depressed.

Well, it's a good reminder not to forget my donations this month.

I'd never actually wear it, since I'd probably burst into tears every time I'd see my reflection. But for the concept and the excellent execution (*groan*) of it, GMV.

Damn...

The esscence if tattoo work is to get across a point and show that the meaning of said point is important enough to keep a reminder of it to yourself and the world for the rest of your life, and theres no better point than peace and love. hope you win, really want this shirt.

While I agree, it doesn't matter. The fact that as shirt much like it already exists trumps the fact that this one is better.

Yes, to be honest i have been only wearing V-necks for almost 3 years, but just last week for the first time because of your shirt, and leonryans shirt i decided to change it up. My neck feels like it's suffocating, i like my neck to breathe lol. Maybe one day woot will catch on.

That's a good reason to like anchors also. I'm just very metaphorical, when it comes to things like this. It reminds me of a format song, where he says "Sailors think twice before anchoring". A lot of truth in those lyrics.

Yes, I see them as change because you can bring some stability to your life, but if you want to move on you just bring the anchor up and let the wind catch your sails.

Also, don't go see 500 days of summer. It wasn't what i was expecting. Assuming you were interested in those kinds of things.

Good luck with everything, and would you be ok with me added you to facebook? It's hard to find someone whom shares a love of anchors like myself.

Cheers.

jewelwing wrote:I wish they did v-necks too. I kind of never wear basic crew neck tees, unless there's something really awesome printed on them. Even then I'm tempted to take the scissors to them. V-necks are so much better.

I like anchors because I like everything related to the ocean. That's where I'm happiest and I don't live there anymore, so now my love of the ocean has turned into an obsession with nautical things. Reminds me of where I wish I was.

I like your reason tho. I always looked at anchors as a symbol of stability, but your perspective is really cool. I'd have never associated them with change, but I will now.

It's a beautiful design, but it confuses me. Do they make pale-inked tattoos similar to this? I haven't been able to find anything remotely acquainted with this one. It really reminds me of Jimiyo, in a good way.

Obscure? Yes. Removed from the theme? Absolutely not. As Woot stated, the shirt doesn't have to be a tattoo itself. It can be related to tattooing, and this is definitely related.
