This design is a total remake of my Celtic Clover design from the 2010 "Luck" Derby. I've learned a ton of new techniques and grown as an artist since then, so I thought it would be fun to give the design an upgrade.

Wow. I like this - it's so different from anything else subbed.
My crit is on the style (s). I see some Looney Tunes, some Matt Groening, and more. It's like each character is an homage to a different toonist. If that's the intent, then great! But you gotta sell it. Otherwise, it's confusing how you want the viewer to see it.

All that said, I love the overall look. I could wear the crap outta Dakxxx/Crescent design any day. I only with for another chance (like my closet ain't bursting NOW).

They are wearing suits. Each one with a sort of card shaped background. Spade has a shovel (A spade), Heart is the lovely babe with a heart pendant. Club is a dude with a club and looks like a bouncer... for a nightclub. And the diamond dude you just have to believe he's a thief and has some diamonds in his pocket because I didn't want to give him diamond earings or anything. He's pure business. As for the "shield", you can see her hand beside the spade guy. I know it's all real sketchy but that's the style we wanted this time.

July 28th begins a new Thundercats series (more anime style) that my kids are sooo excited to see. And if they go ahead and make the movie version this would be even more awesome! I know my boys would want me to wear this to the movie opening.

@ jadeirene: Well actually, it's a young dark brown eagle. I thought about giving him the classic bald eagle's white head -- but he's too young for that. Plus, maybe he's not a bald eagle? ...also, I think a raven would have a black beak and black feet :-)

Yea, I assume that just the concept of the "4th horseman" (or a variation of that idea) is okay for this derby.

I made my first design assuming that we had to literally put four visual things in the design, but it seems that just having the idea of
"four" in the concept somewhere is fine. We'll see what happens, though!
