So, since Nicole Kidman hasn't had a career in over a decade, is she exempt from popular culture?

Nevermind... off to work on my tasmanian lion design...

Two hours in and no food pic?
Oh alright, I guess it's up to me then:

For those of you wondering, yes that's a 'roo burger.

What, too soon?

Woah, talk about uncanny valley!
That thing looks nowhere near as real as the stuff from "Polar Express."

I was thinking it was animatronic...

Thank you very much for that link. I was trying to determine if the sea turtle was indeed indiginous. I'm thinking a simplfied aboringinal art style. Then again the tree frog has me thinking too.

It will be nice to take a break from the pop culture designs this time. Does pop culture include popular myths, folktales, and folk songs?

I remember some discussion about this some time ago, but I don't recall what the consensus was.

*edit* Okay, my brain is not making any ideas. If anyone wants to collaborate on a good idea I'd be happy to do that :D (collin? you have any idears?)

Hmmm, all these pouches... maybe I'll make some marsupial matryoshka. Marsupiyoshka?

I'm probably going too weird again. :-/

at the fair this year in the petting zoo, they had a kangaroo and a wallaroo. I was surprised how soft the kangaroo was. (it might have been a baby)

Funny story about that. I was browsing the interwebs for a Halloween Costume that was homemade/creative. I stumbled on "Shrimp On The Barby" costume. You dress up as Barbie, pink dress blonde hair and all, and have shrimps (I would assume pictures) all over you. I chuckled.

And nope, not what I went as :P

Here's an idea for any of those who are stumped. Digeridoo Digeridon't. It's totally possible. Get some animals native to Australia, have one play the Digeridoo, and the other one listening, only with an angry face and covering its ears, as if it's bad.

I would really like to see some straight designs based on somethign like aboriginal dot art.

Or maybe, on the funnier side, some take on the fact that Australia was founded on a penal colony.
I was also going to make an off-color mention of a past peccadillo with an Aussie, but each time I try the Woot Gods somehow prevent me from posting it. Nice Woot Gods. Lawsuit averted. :/

Your idea is different enough from Walmazan's and is a solid joke for those who like Risk. And it seems board games have been considered outside pop culture in the past.

I'd love to see this one too and am tempted to try it myself...

Sweet character! I always love your lines and ideas.

I wonder if the halftone needs to be all over the croc when you have inks to spare? I get the feeling you're mimicing newsprint and that's quite a cool approach, but some folks might find it distracting.

Why did you have to ostracize the ray? I immediately thought of Steven Irwin and became sad.

However, great shirt; I always love shirts with animals, especially collages like this!

A dingo sitting at a table with a napkin tucked into its shirt, eating a baby with a fork and knife?

No, that's just wrong. Dingoes don't wear shirts.

The ray is Tasmania - an island state.

The ray is where Tasmania is located. I've thought about including New Zealand, as well...

This is the sketch of my idear.

I may do this as a daily instead because I'm not sure if it is on-topic enough for this derby. I know there are no beavers in the wild in Australia, so its the platypus that is the focus here (there are ducks in Australia, though). Is it on topic enough or should I save it?

Wouldn't the individual animals become too small if you added NZ?
