There are rabbits lots of places, but if this was family feud you definitely wouldn't find it in the top survey answers if at all. That's the point. It was chosen to pander for votes not because it makes any aesthetic sense.

You're more than welcome to disagree. That's why it says "Comments" not "Only comments unsenuchiha finds agreeable." I always find it funny reading the, "I absolutely have a right to my opinion but no one else has a right to theirs unless it's the same as mine so if you don't like it just don't say anything because I am the arbiter of all that is allowable!!!"

I'll try to remember for the future that saying a shirt has good design and execution except for one thing that detracts from it is overly condescending. Thanks for the protip.

To me it sounds like you have something against Patrick and just want to put down on his work. Well I think you should go jump in a lake, if you hate the shirt so much shut your trap and don't buy the shirt when it goes out to sell ( and yes I am perfectly confident that its going to sell). Stop giving out bad vibes.

It actually makes perfect aesthetic sense. A white rabbit is not just an arbitrary choice. It contrasts the dark scene in such a way as to invoke the correct emotional response that the piece demands. White rabbits are also associated with nature, such as the scene depicted, if an animal that is typically associated with city life had been used, the feeling of loss would not be there. Rats, for example, thrive in city life, so I would have a hard time understanding the scene of that had been used. You seem to have an extremely difficult time suspending reality I suppose, perhaps due to a stunted imagination, or maybe you have a trained autonomic response to white rabbits. Whatever the case may be, I really don't think family feud answer choices can serve as an argument, considering that an abundance of white bunnies in real cities in the world is not a prerequisite to the understanding and appreciation of this

(for the record, as a lover of white bunnies on shirts, i can assure you that they actually are no more popular than any other animal really. In fact, there is a long list of animals that come first in terms of garnering votes, so the pandering comment really holds no water.)

YES!
This is, simply put, amazing.
I don't understand why some people hate "artsy" shirts...
Anyway, another amazing design by Omar!

Because it's not at all possible that it was chosen because a rabbit allowed the artist to keep the animal very small but, using the ears, convey emotion in a way that wouldn't have been as easy with say, a raccoon.

It seems ridiculous (and more than a little troll-like) to just accuse anyone who uses a rabbit of pandering.

For once you're correct. It does require you to suspend reality and that's why it isn't effective outside of "ooooooh cute bunny I like bunnies." The reason is that what is depicted is a domestic rabbit. Unless you think Patrick went out of his way to draw a snowshoe or Arctic hare, which are only white in the winter and near no major cities (except maybe in Canada). An actual wild rabbit would make sense. Any wild animal would make sense. A domestic one not so much.

mrwednesday wrote:Please.......I'm from Denver. Rabbits are neither plentiful nor common in the city and any that might be are not all white cotton tails. This is a phenotype of bunny used primarily by ramy and copied by Patrick to pander to that crowd. It is clearly working but it's insulting to everyone to pretend it makes sense outside of that. Don't be so naive.

I live in the suburbs of Denver. Rabbits have recently come back to the city, at least the southern suburbs. And that particular rabbit does indeed look like the ones in my yard; not white, but white under the right lighting, such as Patrick's overhead light.

In regards to mrwednesday's reply to my post, you were not being condescending when you gave your opinion on the design, you were being condescending when you called people out for being naive and when you called ramy and patrick out for copying each other and pandering. Oh, and by the way, rabbits and bunnies are everywhere. Just because your eyes are closed doesn't mean they don't live in the area or don't exist. Next time, just try to get your facts straight before you make claims and accusations. You're welcome for the pro-tips.

@ettanin: Thank you!

@wolfgaidin: Wow, a big thank you goes to you. You are so kind.

@hikerjohnd: LOL.... thank you for the compliment, I suppose I got something right considering that your screen name is HIKERjohnd.

On a side note - I almost wish the derby had started a day or so later, because for my wife's birthday, this weekend, the family went to the National Arboretum in Washington DC. It was amazing and inspiring. The Bonsai Conservatoreum was so fascinating and the trails through all of the different landscapes and forests could take years to fully walk through and enjoy. I strongly suggest to anyone in the area or coming to the area to go and visit.

Re: [url=http://shirt.woot.com/Derby/Entry.aspx?id=62369]Starry Night (ReSub on Navy

I'm a sucker for van Goeh and I love the idea of this, but I'm not liking the background. The deer and the tree look great, but the smeared blurriness keeps me from voting. The thing about Impressionist work is that it's layers and layers of paint, but you can still make out each individual brush stroke. That element gets lost here. I would love to see this with less blur going on, but that might not be a reasonable request at this point in the derby. All that aside, though, I do think it's a great concept and I hope the design does well.

Re: Naturestache

I love this shirt, but i need to point something out:

The mountains are sentient, as is the cloud...meaning the trees would most likely be sentient too...

The mountain murdered that tree and is using its corpse as a moustache (he ripped its roots out and curved its body, even if it's alive, its in terrible pain). That cloud is peeing itself in fear, not laughter.
