bounty42 wrote:Nope. Consider last week. For all 34 shirts there were 18,744 sales. (O!M!G!) Seven of those were new that week, and they hold the lions share with 11,467 sales. We also reckoned seven shirts, who in total sold 665 shirts. During that same time period The Binge sold only 389. So if that was an average week, we can say that about 2% of the sales are Binge Shirts. So 1 in 50 would be binges. I know I haven't seen 50 shirts in the wild (though I did see 4 in one day at a RPG swap-meet)

Ah... Your math does not lie. I would know; I'm a physicist. Now do the same thing again, but add in the "Raven" tee. Don't I sound like an evil professor??? I've been practicing!

That's because all the cooler people are from up north :P

My wife and I used to cruise down to Fresno once every couple of Months to visit all the Comic Shops, and explore the city, but that was BC.

Oh it is, the little suckers are surprisingly strong too, I'm not sure if they're testing out in our market first or what (we get some of those, a recent one I can think of is we got taco bell dorito tacos before everyone else, bleh). The best place to see Woot shirts in the wild is at Maker Faire. I attend the one in San Mateo, May 19 & 20 this year. When I am not volunteering I will wear the most geeky shirts of the past year. I need to plan what to wear this year. I see lots of Woot shirts here in San Francisco but not as many as at Maker Faire. For me it is funny to see a shirt I own on a guy. They look very different in the larger print.

Surprised to see Ninja Blade still stuck near the bottom. Then again, it looks like its sales this week have been fairly lackluster.

Save the Save the Trees! That is, if you have no qualms with Anvil. I got a copy for my wife, and I have so say it is a great looking print to see in person.

Yeah, so there's that...

Ninja Blade and Save the Trees both have a higher RT DSR than Lucky at last, so come monday they should both rise ast it. In fact, I suspect they'll end up with a shirt between them and danger.

Not that this has anything to do with the Reckoning, but yes, Chipotle has surprisingly strong margaritas (and rather good ones for what they are).

Good to see all the derby winners doing well this week! I'm always sad when they don't escape for at least one go-around in the Reckoning.

So I'm looking at Narf Numbers, and I'm guessing that Closing numbers are as of Noon on Monday, but when are the Base Numbers taken from? If that's Monday at Midnight, does that mean the sales after Noon on Monday count for the previous week?

They get counted for this week, but not for the weekly records (best seller, etc.)

So why was there such a huge discrepancy between base numbers and Closing numbers?

I may be misunderstanding your question, because I don't see a huge discrepency between the base numbers and closing numbers. For example, the closing number of "Formula for Success" was 9098 and the baseline number was 9142. That means 44 "Formula for Success" shirts were sold between noon and midnight on Monday, which is about what one would expect since "Formula's" real-time DSR was 84.7 on Monday (predicting 42-43 shirts sold every 12 hours).

Kind of. The thing is, if the 'week' starts as soon as closing ends, the difference between the two should be 0.

That's a good point; I see what you mean. I can't answer your question directly, but (I think) the "additional sales" are counted from midnight to midnight, while the DSRs are calculated from the moment of the Reckoning (noon on Monday). In other words, the sales from noon to midnight on Monday are factored into the DSRs.

Eh, you get 24 hours before we start worrying that something came out of nowhere with an acquired taste for fresh cake and pulled you into the black hole. Besides, you'd likely get lucky at last and run away, and we'd figure, Narf? He'll probably be okay. With some motivation required to determine if an imposter conducted an illegal operation and broke into the NarfNumbers library - with a wrench - and everyone a little meh about the whole thing, no one will think of the children who might be in danger, and the apathetic "wooters security force" coalition will be unable to determine if it's a trap or merely the cycle of life. Sure, it might be a thorny issue for a while on the fora, but eventually everyone will settle into a kind of grim optimism. When you finally show up and tell some fantastic tale about "fat unicorns" and "four ponies" and "the apocalypse," we'll just sigh and say, "Well, that narfcake is a liar."

(And that, folks, is the worst short story in the history of shirt.woot! No worries, I'll be here all week. )

From the looks of it, spots 17-22 are more-or-less in play as we enter the weekend, plus Ninja Blade has the math on its side (if not necessarily the sales).

Who will be left without a seat when the music stops Monday at noon? Oh the drama!

We may be looking at a triple Ramy Reckoning, the flip side of having so many shirts available. I know double whammies have hit several artists before (Ramy, Patrick, and Wences off the top of my head), but is a triple a new one?

Would we call that a Ramybeckoning?

Hmm. The Ramybeckoning. That sounds like it could be the name of a straight-to-video horror movie.

Ramybeckoning!? That's what's going on in that other thread.

No prob. I was thoroughly amused too, and since I had quite a few of the referenced shirts, it was just copy/clip off my list. I actually had to do more searching back when I posted this.

This is Walmazan's third straight time of placing in a derby, but not breaking 800 sales. I want to speculate, but I'm not sure where to begin.

Yeah, so there's that...

I wonder if it's somewhat due to the Anvil blanks? I make an exception to the Anvil rule for Walmazan designs if it's a shirt my husband likes, but it's a reluctant one. My husband doesn't seem to notice much of a difference in the shirts, so I'll buy him one in a day or so. I don't like the women's shirts, though-and lots of other women don't either. Of course, really, I don't like the switch at all, but I also feel bad for the artists-it's not their fault the blanks changed.

Historically, Wences' designs tended to fair very well in the 'Most Lady Friendly' category, much more so than even Ramy's cutesy ones.

With the new blanks that excludes anyone who was a WS or WM, that market got very limited.

And the new kid sizing is pretty horrible, too. One inch difference between the 4 & 6 (the 6 is almost 2" shorter than the AA one) then a huge jump in both width and length for the K8. I had to get an 8 for a tall four year old to get the length, but it's really wide and awful. Not bothering to do that again!
