actually I bought seamonkeys for my kids last summer and they actually grew! they got to be pretty big....scary if you ask me....i was almost afraid to flush 'em in fear that they will continue to grow as big as their "tank" allows movement.

they're probably 2 feet long and living somewhere in the Manasquan River by now!

Not nice, Woot.

Crappy as it may be, it's reality today. Though we have thick skin, I do take issue with "artificial" unless you are suggesting you're aware of our machinery, man power, and production scheduling requirements to do same day shipment. Since you are not, your conclusion is only a personal observation based on too few data points to be valid. (namely "500 shirts" and "sold out")

Like I said, we have thick skin and really appreciate all feedback and participation (including the negative/annoyed variety). As more aspects of the model here are on display, we'll definitely be listening for fine tuning suggestions.

While woot does not "buy" it's shirts, we would enjoy having more capacity to make them available and are working towards better production processes to allow it. There are multiple relationship and creative activities in play before it comes down to "slap the ink on the shirt, put it in a bag and ship it," and you're talking about rinse and repeat every 24 hours.

shirt.woot.

if you're going to just keep selling the shirts and not let them sell out, why not just make this a store instead of woot format. i'm not supporting that idea, but it would seem easier and more cost effective for everyone.

They sell the first batch of shirts for $10. All the post- sale shirts are going for $15. So while they are kind of running a store, they are "selling out" their lower priced t's.

Woot Gods,

I think everything y'all are doing is fabulous. I love the idea of a new and different shirt every day and I really like the idea that only those awake at 1am are going to get the cheap ones (I'm EST too). But I especially like the fact that if I can't stay up until 1, I can just wait a day and order via the second chance option. I kinda wish regular woot would have this option too, but then there'd be no woot-offs so pretend I didn't say anything.

The only thing keeping me from buying more is the shirt sizing issue that's been bantered about long and hard every day. I saw a couple of posts where a staffer mentioned they were working on that option... any ideas or timelines on when the 3X might become a reality?

Thanks for the great job you've done so far and (apparent) success of your new venture!!!

I made some comments related to this yesterday, and again I'm out on a limb in terms of "not speaking for the team." In any case, I find the balance between needs to be compelling. the primary two to consider are LOW SHIRT PRICE for consumers vs. HIGH ARTIST COMPENSATION to get the best designs, though I agree that "keeping it woot" is a priority as well. As aspects of the model are released (The Derby and others), I believe we'll be in a better position to discuss likes and dislikes.

3XL and WXL are being actively discussed. If we can afford the expensive inventory requirements, account for the higher cost shift of 3XL, and/or find a workable compromise for both, we'll then be a number of weeks away from production and transport to dallas. Probably best to say "more than a month" with the annoying lingering possiblity of "never" (as unlikely as I believe that to be)

*way* cool. I'd pay more for 3X but if they run small.... as people are saying... Maybe woot! could offer larger sizes on a "pre-order" type basis... where - the option is available, but you don't order them until after you know how many to order

You know the sore thumbs controller was probably bought by a bunch of people in their early to mid 20's who see it as something fun to wear.

Aka. Oh snaps remember in 8th grade when we used to play Mario 64 all night?

Also, i bet woot only has 500 at 10$ because that's all they produce early on, in a pre-production without knowing demand. WHen their first batch sells out, each person that buy a $15 shirt they will print it for them personally? (any clues on that snapster?)

AWESOME how this shirt will re-appear again tonight at midnight.

Just wondering though, I placed in an order for one of these shirts the exact moment after it became sold out. It said I was in a line to get one. Will Woot place me in for an order when they come back tonight or do I have to buy it again?

I want to know because I don't want to have two orders going through. I'm GUESSING because it will be at $5.00 more that they won't place in an order for me automatically at that price.

w00t!

I wouldn't replace your order COOOOOOOOOOOOOOLMATT, just let them do it, if they don't just wait for the next shirt, because the worst thing would be you get 2 of the same shirts for 25$ total.

This early in the game, we don't have the sizing bell curve, or overall demand quite figured out or at least statistically reliable enough to pre-print. We also don't have the production capacity to get much ahead right now. Every single shirt shipped so far was generaly "made" the same day it was shipped. The air in the bag you get is pretty much the first air it's breathed as a completed screened shirt.

thomas posted some cell phone video of the press in operation on the launch thread - I'll have to ask for more of that inside view as we go.
