Funny thing about those guys?

ladybucki wrote:I was wondering the same thing. I guess I'm new enough and dumb enough that I just haven't figured things out yet. For example, why do the blocks under the usernames have colors? How can you tell how many purchases someone has made? How do you buy a shirt that was offered yesterday (without finding a link to it here)? I'm really stumbling around this site and appreciate any help.......

Hover over the colored box under someone's username with your mouse and it will answer two of your questions.

SmartPost uses this type of system for shipping:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spoke-hub_distribution_paradigm

This is a very efficient way of processing packages, however, it is mainly used for air, when it takes about 4 hours (if that) to go cross country vs. 4 days or so to truck across country. If it helps, think of New Berlin, WI as the main hub. All packages will go from Wootville, TX to New Berlin, WI, and then to the local sorting hub (usually). This hub is usually closest to the local BMC. It may be entered there, but usually FedEx either goes to the local PO and hands it off or hands it off to a local carrier to deliver it to the local PO. (SpeeDee delivery here...why don't they switch in New Berlin, WI??? Faster and it can be done. SpeeDee delivers/picks up there.) After that, it's up to the local PO, which usually means next day unless you go visit the PO that day after the delivery, maybe.

Compare this to FedEx Ground, which is usually point-to-point(-to-point), speedier for ground, as trucks are slow compared to airplanes. However it does cost more. And no PO to deal with.

Hopefully this helps answer some questions about SmartPost.

I am so freaking tired of people not realizing that there are no new shirts on the weekends. Hasn't this happened the past two weekends in a row? Isn't it also mentioned in the What Is Shirt.Woot? Blog? People are so idiotic.

Well, thank you for posting a link but that still doesn't answer my question. Where did you get this link? I have yet to see anything on the home page that will let me know I can still order a shirt that was sold out yesterday. I'm not saying I want to order this shirt because I don't! I just want to know how to order a shirt that was offered yesterday without coming here and scouring the posts for a link to it.

Nice call, I've read Calvin and Hobbes plenty so I guess I'll just buy an iron on transfer and use the ORIGINAL rather than the bull$hit knockoff (not rewarding woot for rewarding intellectually dishonest/vacant people).

Unfortunately, after years of of living next to poser, loser skateboard neighbor kids, I know that the shirt with flame and water is a direct copyright infringement of a skateboard company. I will try to find out the name of it and post on here.

Your thinking of World Industries.

The first two things I though of when looking at this woot was World Industries and Calvin and Hobbes.

Lame.

I can't wait to get all my new shirts. I'm hoping for a theme that I can actually think of something that is original that will be liked to put into the Derby too. So far, nada has come to mind other than trying to think of woot themed super heroes... but there is already the flying monkey for that, maybe Woot-Monkey-Man?

Nahhhh

The shirts are very well made and soft. My men's XL is a true XL, but my women's L seems a tad small. I'm just probably used to loose t-shirts. All in all a great deal.

I guess I missed something on the ordering page when I bought two of the two-shirt deal. Now I have two Unhappy Meeting in XL, and two Snowmen In Heat in 2X. I thought I was ordering one each in both sizes. Did anyone else try to order two sets?

it means that for all eternity, people will continue to debate which one of the two-fer shirts was more of a copyright violation. It means nothing. It means everything. It means what you want it to mean. Fire. Water. They both can destroy the other. They meet. It is unhappy that they meet when they could destroy each other.

I ordered 2 sets of the shirt, one for me and one for my wife. I got my shirts today and guess what I got two XXL shirts of the Unhappy Meeting and two WL shirts of the Snowmen. Where's the feet? do I want with 2 of the exact same shirt!!!! I want both shirts for my wife and I. And I don't think I am the only one who had this problem. Woot seriously f'd up.
