hey, I was very innocent in that. I had an idea- get a night view of Saturn with the rings. I looked at about 300 pictures before I found one that was good. I then made it into six colors about twenty times to get it to look right. I spent a lot of time adding big blocks of different shades to the background to force it to use the colors I wanted to use when I Traced it. that was a Cassini probe picture, and I looked at it and didn't like the look of it even though it was better sharpness than this one. I went back and found this one, which I'd remembered from my first search, and repeated the whole trace thing to get it to work. Then I had to make it look right on the page- it isn't easy to avoid making a planet look great big on a shirt.

whwen I submitted it, I spelled out exactly what the NASA requirements were, and posted links to them and to JPL with their image use policies, and asked woot to credit them in the sale page the way they asked for it to be credited. That other guy apparently did none of that.

It would have been easier to paint a sombrero and take a picture of it and pass it off as Saturn.

yep. If I were doing it again, I'd put a single bright light in the shadowed part of Saturn, and title it "Saturn's night light".

Hmm, I'm not sure, Dr. J. Without the title, it's a litlle hard to see it as a stand-alone shirt: "Why is there a light on your Saturn shirt?" Howver, since you've already got a Saturn design done, it isn't that much more work to add the light. It wouldn't hurt to try it.

It's not exactly the appealing-to-wooter-chicks strategy you were talking about a while back.

I cannot see a reason why not, I liked the first one and I like this one as well. I have noticed that people will gladly revote for an entry they like, so you have mine (and Mr. zero's ) if you decide to change it.

Ahh, that is true, didn't think of that, does draw attention to "that area".

Thank you KtC, that is exactly what it needed. Iris. I did not put it in yellow becuase for some reason it looked.... I don't know how to explain it, different. Co worker said it looked good with yellow, but then proceeded to tell me I should put it in red, So all sorts of confused here.

Its a little better now- has to be a black shirt, I think. I tried cranberry, as per v8r's suggestion over on shirt, but it was, um, unpleasant.

It's just no point competing against the big dogs like Dr. J and Mr. Zero. I can't think of anything funny, and I don't know how to do abstract stuff (nor am I interested). I'll probably throw some crap together Tuesday and enter it on Wednesday just to be able to say I entered.

First of all, whatever Mr no1, by far you are the funniest one on this here website, and might I add one of the best artist I've seen.

second Dr. J what is wrong with this? I really like it. Yes black is very nice and so is brown and yello and orange, It's a great design no matter what color it is on, so good luck there.
