If you look at the pile of symbols on the bottom of the design, there are half notes and whole notes, none of which are able to fit into a bar of 3/8 time, and a treble clef, which certainly would not have come from the position of the explosion on the main part of the design.

It's just hilarious that those "music purists" who declined to purcahse Cool Breeze based on the atonal measures haven't said a word about this yet. Sigh...

You could just think of it as where another piece of music crashed into this one, it that makes you happier...

or, that its decomposing, and everything is going haywire as random notes are spilling out of the wreckage.

My first woot shirt. If I like it once it arrives, this will probably be the 1st of many.

Btw, anybody know how long the standard free shipping usually takes? :-/

Yeah, I don't know, seeing I'm still waiting for my shirts from the 7th, and 8th.

This is a GREAT shirt design (pay attention, Cho{--he did ask})

And get over Brown.
I also once had that affliction, but I passed through it. You may also.

@Luke: congratulations on the shirt. I was 100% behind your design from the moment it was posted.
Even though I was traveling on business in Atlanta during this derby I stayed up till 1am in my hotel -logged in to hotel wireless- to check if you won. I immediately bought one.

If Cool Breeze had the sense to use the head for "Autumn Leaves," (one of THE STANDARDS of jazz) then it would've totally won, but this wins because I read it as Fur Elise within a few seconds of clicking the shirt image.

I ordered Mental Notes too -- that one is for my urban side, this one will be for the real music nerds. =DDD

I got both those shirts, too. I skipped Cool Breeze ...wouldn't have bought fight song.

I'm thinking about getting it but it's actually the Fur Elise on there that's turning me off right now. =/

I'm a pianist and deal with a lot of pianists so I'd get made fun of hahaha because Fur Elise is just kind of embarrassing to pianists and they'd get what it is from 20 feet away lulz

then you should consider that IT's PERFECT as it's DeComposing. if they don't get that, then move over to the cheese dip for better company.

thanks man. i appreciate it.

and to the dude who said fur elise is an embarassment. WHAT ARE they playing?

mission impossible theme song? come on, great piano starts at the roots, and you can't forget that.

There are plenty of things pianists could be playing. (Bartók possibly?)
I think the point isn't that Für Elise is bad, just that it's so stereotypical and overdone. Someone sitting down at a piano and playing Für Elise is like someone picking up a guitar and playing Stairway to Heaven.

I think it's a great shirt and I think the decomposition element is what makes the fact that it is Für Elise pretty interesting.

That said, I do very much agree with the criticism that the design is strangely placed on the shirt. If it were a little higher or a little lower I would buy one for a friend of mine- but as is I think the shirt just won't work well for most women because of where the design is placed.

Heh, look what popped up on Threadless yesterday:

http://www.threadless.com/submission/134593/Splatter_in_D_Minor

The comments indicate the design was thought up a while ago. This goes to show how two people can come up with similar ideas completely on their own...

lukekim91 wrote:and to the dude who said fur elise is an embarassment. WHAT ARE they playing?

Ravel, Liszt, Bach, etc.

Fur Elise is nice, but, as a pianist, you've heard it 100000001 times so anytime someone plays it theres a collective "not this again" groan from pianists.

Like the other guy said, it's the Stairway of piano.

whoa! thats cool. Never thought of making the splat looking like notes eventually.

some of his splats look all the same though...i've never submitted to threadless before. This was my first site. Its looks like there are better incentives at threadless though...is it tough to get in?

Too bad Woot won't let me go back and order a second shirt. After getting one of my other shirts, I realized the size is too small.

Has anyone had success ordering a second shirt on a separate order?

It's been my experience that it leaves Texas within a couple days and then, once in the hands of Fedex SmartPost, it takes around 10-12, less if you're closer to Woot HQ.

Did you know shirt.woot ships internationally? Get you some!

Yes, you should get an email with tracking information. If you don't get one within, say 6 business days, you can email service@woot.com with an inquiry. Make sure to include your order number.

So if mine shipped yesterday (the 19th), how long do we think it will take to go about 150 miles east of woot central?

Ok, so it looks like nobody is coming back to this forum, but I'll ask my question anyway, just in case...

If my tracking status says "Shipment Accepted" in my home town, that doesn't mean that it has been delivered, does it? Hopefully it just means that my shirt has been accepted by the SmartPost folks in my town...because I sure don't have my shirt yet. :o/

can someone help me out?
according to the chart i would need a small in mens(very close to needing medium though). my question is will these shirts shrink?? and how accurate is the size chart? i usually wear a medium, comfortably. I've never gotten a custom shirt online before.

anyway, I think this shirt design is pretty cool. one glance at the first two measures and I thought i must have this - very funny.

thanks. i'm actually washing my medium right now to see how it shrinks. i'm about 5'6 or 7 inches, and it fits fine, on the longer side before wash
