Thank you, pepper and mihalis... shall look for a uni-ball vision micro for the next derby...

I will accept further referrals, tho, if anyone else is adamant about their own preferred pens.

I like it without the bathroom door...leave it gender neutral...but on second thought it loses the joke without it....oh i don't know...i'm tired. L O L

Keep the restroom. It adds an extra layer that just having a cute kid on the shirt will lose. The humor is tasteful enough for the cute voters to not mind the bathroom, and universal enough that everyone who was ever a kid in the snow will get it. Also, some people only vote if there's a joke. Hammer the joke home.

AdderXYU wrote:So, question for all you sketchy types... when you eventually go in and ink your work (presuming you do ink your work), are there any sorts of pens you feel are most reliable... I've used thin tip sharpies before, and they seem to bleed too much, but tonight the pen I was using was a bit too ballpoint, in that it was tempermental about how the tip was held, and I needed to draw over a number of times... I'll need to fix some craziness in post production, it seems.

Basically, I'm looking for a reliable, smooth pen, a pure black ink (none of that purply-black nonsense), and as little bleed as possible. Anyone? I've always loved pens, as a writer, but never had to consider them artistically.

Calligraphic pens... like the real ones with the nibs, that you have to dip in real inkwells...

for the love of meme, would you set up a shop for all your near misses already? you could be as big as any of those sites all by yourself you know.

I went through a few of the last current pages.. and I'd vote for both the cherry blossoms girl & the melting snowman (but then that could be from a pasty derby? but I wasn't here for it so I'm not sure but I saw the image so...)

But we'll see !!

H ah! Thanks. There's plans in the works right now, though I'm holding off on setting up my own shop because of collab rumors... We'll see. If I do get my own shop, then I can really pull out my kickass designs instead of the meme ones I reserve for the derbies. =D

EDIT: ...to your edit... I'd have to take out a rather large loan to start a shirt business, so the collective killing wouldn't come for quite some time. T-T

hohoho! IRL!!! Oman... Bubble bath alien... XD

I almost did a snow squid entry for this one. In the sketch there was a baby penguin on the left, and a snow hill on the right, and a squid in the snow hill with tentacles reaching towards the unsuspecting baby penguin.

Sweet. I've probably got stacks of Pilots around (always liked them for writing), though pens like disappearing on me, so that's not a totally safe bet. Calligraphic won't work though, unless the theme of the derby is "rorschach blots on hands". Fountain pens and calligraphy pens seem to like nothing more than an inky Adder.

The Who (and specifically John Entwistle) are love. Actually, John is kinda creepy love, especially now that he's dead, but love nonetheless.

Goshdarn, I'm playing the all-nighter game (need to get out early), and I can't even get to the scanner for another hour, so I can't even get my designs out to spruce 'em up yet. I'm not tired yet thankfully, but my god is everything dull this early.

The largest screen they have is 16x20...so anything larger than that can't be printed.

This isn't to say that a 16x20 image can be printed on a Women's small though, you still have to work within the bounds of the 'printable area', more or less from the bottom of the collar to the top of the bottom hem, and most of the width of the shirt, save about 2 inches on either side, more or less.

They actually sized WAve Function in two sizes - Girl's shirts actually had a seperate, smaller screen than the guys shirts, so if you design for the guy template, and you win, they will make it fit. It's why they want vector.

Does anybody know how small the smallest line they can print is? And, is my math correct? If this is done at 300 dpi, one pixel is equal to 0.003 inches (about the thickness of a human hair).

VOTE!

I mean more for placement than size. Is the box a size guideline or a placement guideline or both?
