Then practice looking at the blind spot without doing an entire body turn that he currently does. Then up and down an easy stretch of highway here exiting and entering. He'll hate me.

Then off on a LONG drive for some pizza at a place we don't have locally.

Oh yeah, it's gonna be fun.

Well, the pizza's an incentive. You going to make him drive home, too?

Well, another day has passed and I didn't use algebra once.

I'll see how he's doing by then. We're taking his car so my excuse is always "I'll have to move your seat and change your mirrors." It may not work by that point though.

Who? LukeKim?
I'm sure I harrassed him....had to , he is a kid....that is what I do.

Besides I had to find out if he was related to Jay Kim, who has owed me a copy of his NYU senior film project for 3 or 4 years now! I drove to NJ to be killed by a vampire and get red food dye all over my clothes, some of which never came out.

Sorry Luke. I have a 20 year old son, and he comes with swarms of other kids when he is home.
Our HS is 40% asian.
Two of son's friends are graphic arts majors.
I'm just use to agrevating any kid who shows up.
You know, the old meanest mother in the neighborhood, but somehow not too mean that you can't call for a ride or hang out in my basement for 6 years now or make me drive to NJ 3 years after you moved out of the neighborhood to kill in a movie.

Ummmmm, in hubby's family we use that word for guys.
We use to call one of the nephews that. He was young, but his parents bragged and bragged about him, so the guys were waiting for that brag too!
But the kid was only 9! Guys are sick when they get together.

WE SURVIVED!!?!?!? It was pretty funny most of the time. We argue a lot but it's good natured bickering. We were arguing so that he didn't hear the part that said "stay on 121 for 14 miles." He drove the whole way there and that was after we had already been doing the highway practice. When we got close he was "God, are we ever going to get there?" He made me drive home so I went to IKEA first, driver's choice. Made him walk through that. He was pushing me most of the way. "You hear that kid crying? Yeah. That's going to be me in 15 minutes." Then I got to play the radio in his car. He hates having the radio on but it's driver's choice. I told him anytime he fiddled with it that I would take a scenic detour.

All in all, he did quite well. He didn't like it, but he did well. I feel better about him on highways now even though he'll avoid them whenever he gets a chance.

does he dislike highways even when he's not driving? is he just not a fan of being in the car? did he have a bad experience in the car as a child?

He doesn't like driving that much. Just does it because he has to. He doesn't like highways because they're faster than he prefers to drive and the merging freaks him out. It was giving him some practice to get his confidence up and let me know he can do it.

AZGson was the same way until he had to drive to Georgia (albeit w/ his mom in the car and me trailing in the truck). Now, he's prolly ready to try anywhere . . . except NYC . . .

yeah....but at least I didn't just switch the alarm off.....been known to do that without waking up. Problem this morning was that, lately ,Tanners has been sleeping beside me, so I have to actually lean up and reach over him to get to the alarm....this morning he was snuggled in on the other side of me so all I hadda do was move my arm to get to the alarm.

So hey - its the dogs fault I overslept (yet another take on the ol' homework thing)

hows your week startin out?
