Me, too, but I think it comes from experience. A lot of store brands just aren't as good. And although the name brands might make them, doesn't mean that they make them as good. Case in point, Kroger. There's Kroger brands and then there's Kroger Private Selection. The Private Selection is usually pretty good, but costs as much as the name brand. The regular Kroger brand - eh.

yeah, I think thats true....dunno if my mom actually ever tried others - not that there were many 'others' back then - our groc store was a shur-fine (sp?) so that was the only 'generic' brand available. I remember when the generic no-name fad hit - the plain old black and white labels that simply said what it was....

2 rats for 20 days = 40 days of meds, but the drug store mixed it all instead of giving me 1/2 at a time.
Well....4 bottles because they didn't know it was two rats, not just one.
The vet said use it for 12 days then use what I had at home
One rat needed 5 days worth the first time because they started at different times.
The girl on the phone gave me 20 days in two bottles.
So I mixed one bottle and gave each rat more meds until the bottle ran out.

But I was giving .30. This time I am giving .50
So, I'm going to have to buy more meds.

The ratties cost me $215 today and I'm not done!
Should have bought gerbils. They don't grab the bars of the cage and look at you.

PLUS, no people food. Trying to find out what is giving one guy the watery poo.
Now at least three times a day they will be heartbroken about no people food.
Hubby gives them a flake of cereal and a little carrot slice when he gets up.
I give them oatmeal when I get up.
At night they get some fruit and veggies after woot time, when they are waking up.

I was being good! Only rat apporved people food!

stupid pets.

Just had an eye appointment. Stupid peripheral vision test. Haven't had one of those in five years and I really dislike them. You have to press a button when you see a white flash, but after a while you forget to watch for them. Fortunately, it was normal, as was the optic nerve pictures and the pressures. I'm getting trifocals. Wish me luck.

can't believe the drug store did that - I'd call and ask to speak to the pharmacy mngr/head pharmacist.....and ask your vet who the pet-friendly pharmacists are in your area. We have two local compounding pharmacies that are amazing with the scripts we call in for critters.
