Re: tag

I predict 1st place.

The first time I saw it, I didn't get it....now it is completely obvious.
And if someone didn't get it...who cares....people should run from me regardless.

I'll buy it.

DeathByTshirt wrote:ok, so it's a good idea, but seriously... lame joke shirts are a dime a dozen on the internet and if that's what people are into why are they wasting their time voting at shirt.woot? if thats what you're into just go and by a funny-hohoho shirt somewhere. it'd be great to see the woot community get behing some of the really talented artists that pump out great illustrations that must take hours to do! viva-la-illustrators!

If you want pure illustration, there's 16 james cho shirts in the derby. Please feel free to vote for them. Obviously many, many people do like this shirt. If you don't like or understand that, perhaps www.shirt.woot.com isn't the place for you.

Ditto. Great design, but no way in hell I'd wear it. It would make a great gift, but I don't know anyone who's into country music.

The beauty of Shirt.Woot is the variety- and part of the fun is arguing for your favorites. Since illustration shirts have certainly enjoyed a pretty nice run here (Cho is one of, if not the, winningest artists in the derby for exactly this reason), I think DeathByTshirt is in exactly the right place.

I think people are taking criticism (on other people's shirts, at that!) far too personally. Not everybody likes the same stuff, guys. If someone hates what you like, brush it off. There's really no need to pretend people are commenting under fake accounts or to tell them to leave the site.

Plus, if/when this stuff gets printed, the negative comments will flow then anyway. Let's not be prima donnas about it, it's a fact of life and t-shirts.

Re: Ninjas: The New Pirates!

The idea is interesting but a bit too much black, I don't think it would show well on an actual T-shirt, especially such a dark blue color. However, I love the dragon and IMPO the creator should maybe try some more intricate designs around one? Of course, I love dragons, have since I was old enough to understand fantasy (ah, elementary school, how I miss thee). Like I said, definitely interesting but not the best.

Okay, this is adorably cute is a ridiculously twisted way and this so needs to win! I have seen nothing else that quite manages to tickle my fancy like this one has. Chica (or Dude) if multi-voting was allowed, you'd have an easy dozen from me.

Never mind that I've never seen a street artist with a gas mask before, and that doesn't address why he's in a suit and tie, or Why the frown? is going on with the splotches in the back and the mass of people heading to the city. Is the point of the design that street artists are cooler than businessmen?

Christmas-y ? I made this in August. I can see what you are saying but would your mind still go there if it wasn't Dec. 30? Anyway here is the map I used as my reference when making the Leet-speak trail map.

I take it you won't be voting for my Snow Summit design either. heh

You know... I looked at this 4 or 5 times before I really noticed it. It's subtle enough that the fact it's a map is not strong enough to ruin it for me... At the same time... It's a map of the US and that makes sad that I'm aware of it. I really had wished it was truly random.

Which derby was this from? Perhaps that may change my opinion of it.

Jesus. Goodstorm got the colors wrong (unless it's your camera) and they placement is all skewed.

What a craptastic company...In exchange for the $3 commission i got for that shirt i'm now out the chance for $500+...

AdderXYU wrote:Congrats. You've just given them even more reason never to print a power symbol. it's been done ;)

I think it's rough that the guy's design got axed for it, as there's obviously a lot going on which isn't power-symbol-y, but then I ask, what does the power symbol add to the design? The answer I come up with is "nothing."

Also, it might be worth noting that ThinkGeek, as the premier outlet for things that only a supreme geek would be caught dead buying, may have struck a deal with the guys who own the copyright, since only a complete geek would think the symbol on their computer was worth having on a shirt.

I still say the power symbol look slike an hand witht he middle finger upraised at me. every time i see it i want to punch its little green glowing lights out!!! (msg truncated from loss of power)
