Great...it did not bother me until you pointed it out. Now I think I only would want the edited version. This was my first choice in this derby. I like the infographic design as well but yellow on a big fat guy=not good.

I agree that it can be done technically, but Woot has already stated that they're going to be strict about the template's printing boundaries for Derby entries. I really think they'll just be shrinking the art if it comes to a print- they've not been willing to print both front and back, and your fix would entail the same amount of work as that would.

I would just like to state that yellow can certainly work an a big person: you might end up looking like Big Bird. Or a giant Peep! Go with the yellow, you will be an icon to children of all ages.

another vote for this shirt sucks. It never ceases to amaze me what kind of inane stuff beats out truly creative, interesting, and aesthetically pleasing designs. people are stoopid.

No clue man... I think we've got a lot of good designs fighting to survive against some REALLY good ones, and some really heavy hitters.

I'm tossing you a vote tho, because I do quite like this... first time I saw it this derby, I was glad they brought it back, because I'd never seen it before. I think, though, you might be losing some votes on size. It's way too big as is. Also, I see it looking quite good at that smaller size, down in the right hand corner of the shirt, as if it's rising up out of the seams (sorta like where L'homme/chat was positioned).

Re: Abstract Summer Becomes Fall

I don't remember this at all the first time around, but it's definitely evocative of the season, and very minimalist (a definite different style than I'm used to from you, Edgar). It's just a good, tasteful, eyecatching shirt.

I'm probably in the minority, but I liked the sequel (All Hallow's Sleep) better. The pumpkin head makes me fuzzy inside. And who wouldn't buy a warm fuzzy pumpkin head?

I wanted this shirt so bad in the derby it was in, and if it doesn't make it this time I think I might cry.

what you've bought
Sigh of Relief, Camisa de los Muertos, Sun Decay, More Skulls, Fire Swallower, Driving To Work, The Rustic

I keep coming back to this shirt.

What am I missing? I'm fairly hip and up on the latest trends....but I just don't get this.

I don't recall it even being in the fog before....why is it funnier now? Soulstice, I'm sure did better than this one...... weird.

Can someone who is a fan of this shirt kindly explain why?

Which derby was this from? Perhaps that may change my opinion of it.

It was from the night derby. and if you look closely, between the colors of the picture "starry night" in places of high concentration like nyc or la, you can see brighter white dots taken from a picture of the united states at night so you can see all the lights used.

All that aside, I'd like to extend a big thank you to everyone who liked (and voted for this design, I hope I’ve cleared a couple of things up here ;-)

-Derek

Its a good concept, Derek, and most of it is well executed, however, where it falls short to me is...

1 - the paint splotches come across as a bit of a cop out on your part. they come across, not as how street art is seen by the masses, but as poor execution by your rebel. If it were a stenciled tag, similar to Banksy's rodent (your own, perhaps) it might make more sense.

2 - the paint cans are too indistinguishable. I didnt even notice them until somone mentioned them in the forums. The gas mask stands out better, and my first thought was paranoia from subway attacks. But noticing the things in his hands however, and in todays social climate, a guy in a gas mask carrying canisters implies something other then street art. I think giving the paint definition would emphasize the artistic nature of his intent, rather then the malicious implications of the gas mask.

Just my read on it.

Still its a great teeshirt design.

I'm pretty sure this was a later submission and it was getting votes pretty quickly, it may have made the fog if it was entered earlier.

I like this design because its simple but still looks good (its only one color) and because its a funny concept. My interpretation would be that it is making light of people taking anger too seriously by using the "grrrrr" and cutesy woodland critters. Overall though, I think the design is just very well done. It grabbed my attention as soon as I saw it.
