Ahhh, I guess it would make more sense to see the mouth opening but I really set out to draw them as goofily as possible. I was frustrated and wanted to do something quick. I'm glad I'm not loosing it, and definitely shocked that you did that comp for me. That's pretty awesome of you.

Canadian vibe? SHHHHHHHHHH (they're watching us).

Or the fact that IT could mean 100 different things. Maybe the person designing it thinks people who work in I.T. suck or thinks they they are "it" ie what matters. etc etc etc. Maybe they thought the person really liked that balderdash book by stephen king. The shirt is incredibly vague unless you're in that state of mind. That's why. Have fun with your terribly designed, generic wal-mart/kohls-esque shirt.

Except the shirt is called "tag". Sure, it's a name "tag", but the average person would piece it together.

Riff, I love your designs. The red doesnt appeal to me that much, but you still have my vote. Love your "specific CHaos", "digital takeover" and "roughstyle" shirts from DBH. Wish I'd known you had some designs there before buying a bunch of shirts from there.

Edit... I know why. The preview doesn't look anything like the shirt. I wish there was a way you could resubmit it, I don't think you can. Unfortunately, I think everyone will see that tag and not click further. = (. Great shirt, nevertheless.

That's funny I have a feeling too. I have a feeling that I am witnessing someone trying to sabotage an artist's hard work and a truly great design. Not only that, but trying to insult the people that might vote for him "the asphalt/hipster/deconstruction vote"

Do you have some sort of vested interest in this design not doing well? Or a personal vendetta against the artist?

also, you might want to consider striking up a friendship with "DeathbyT" that also posted a negative comment here. You both have exactly the same typing style, use of punctuation in sentences, capitalization habits, and grammar preferences. In fact, if it weren't for couple of (. . . .) these and I didn't know better, I would guess you were the same person

Dude, the comments area is for comments about the design, both negative and positive. I'm sure Derek doesn't care what people say, as long as the votes keep flowing in. It's okay that some people like it, and some people don't- not every style is for every person. One person's "amateurish" is another person's art. And those posters aren't the same people. They've both posted about other stuff before, so neither account was created for attacking this design.

As for the design itself, it's not my style- but I'm glad this best-of derby has such a wide-ranging collection of styles. I think it's one of those shirts that will look totally different on the final printed piece, so if it prints I'm going to be eagerly awaiting some pics. It might end up being one of the more unique shirts Woot has.

Except they probably didn't read the title, and last time I checked when you're wearing the shirt you don't have a small neatly formated ascii title describing the shirt you are wearing hanging under it.

About the Shirt Fight Song:

I kinda agree about the placement. haven't decided.

My biggest complaint, from a musician standpoint, is that it should have bass clef on one of the sides. That would give it almost instant credibility with an entire population of people who buy t-shirts with notes on it.

Plus, being a bass clef player, I probably wouldn't buy this.

Re: aquatic repellent

love this shirt! I would buy at least 3 of these bad boys. We went through this spell growing up where we watched the old Batman's.

This is the same movie where the town councilpeople are reduced to different colored ashes and Robin (or maybe Penguin) sneezes and mixes them up. Aww, what happened to well thought out plots like those?

I want the design, but the placement is WAY too low. Woot should step in and save a T-shirt in jeopardy.

Re: tag

Cool design. My only gripe is that it might look kinda funky in person, all blown up like that.

Before reading the comments I took "IT" to be a reference to IT staff, and "tag" to refer to what is on the shirt. A tag. But whatever.

Congrats on the monster shirt man! You seem to really have tshirt designing down well.

That's amazing that you came up with this as a quick and goofy shirt. I'm not surprised that it got thrown back in because it's a great design, which is also the reason that the one line on the moose was bothering me so much. It looked like a huge puzzle missing one piece to me, so I had to see how it would look with the edit.

Wait who's watching us, the giant grizzlies, the mental moose or the rabid squirrels!? Truth is they all look pretty frightening..
