I stared at this for about 2 minutes, then the light went on.

Brilliant! I'm rooting for you.

liberalandproud wrote:SINCE, not better than sliced bread, just best SINCE sliced bread, meaning Nothing has surpassed sliced bread. Like if we say (just for the sake of argument) that Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is the best movie since Citizen Kane, we aren't saying it's better than Citizen Kane, just the best thing to come along since. Like the next best thing. I'm overexplaining, aren't I?

Thank you! "Best thing since sliced bread" puts sliced bread on an unreachable pedestal, not on something surpassed by everything else.

This is really awesome... if they'll print that low, it'd look perfect!

Re: DaVinci's Tank

The tank graphic is really cool, but for me, the chinese stamps seem out of place and would require far too much explanation. should have gone with the tank alone....keep it simple!

Re: DaVinci Tank and Canon - An Inventor Tribute

This one is REALLY busy kls...near impossible to discern what is going on for me. Like i said on your other, i love the simplicity of the tank....this is just too muddled.

I have the I woke up next to a dead clown! Bees that was printed on Yellow, If I get a chance I will snap a shot of it and post in on the "woot shirt pics" forum tomorrow. I really like the color actually, much more than I thought I would.

**I haven't worn the shirt yet, b/c I haven't been to a tanning bed in a couple of months and I am WAY whiter than I am used to being. I am too Irish!

I am interested. The two lower tubes that go so low on the shirt, did you have an actual idea of where they are going? I was trying to envision where you would be sending them. Did you do it for ascetic reasons? Or is it medically significant?

Don't be sexist. Broads hate that.

Re: Patently Inventive

Here is my tribute to Thomas Alva Edison. In honor of his 1,093 U.S. patents, I created this design: a picture of the inventor himself, shaded in with some of the design sketches from his many patent applications.

Re: the best thing since

fablefire wrote:Thank you! "Best thing since sliced bread" puts sliced bread on an unreachable pedestal, not on something surpassed by everything else.

It depends how you use the expression. "Since" doesn't indicate which was better (i.e. in the example, ESSM was the best movie since Citizen Kane. The only thing that is certain is that all movies in between were not as good. ESSM could be the better movie, and Citizen Kane being the second best movie was the last possible benchmark to use in the example)

Since we compare EVERYTHING to sliced bread, sliced bread is ALWAYS the last benchmark. It doesn't mean we're always taking a step down.

Anyway, that's how I see it

I love the concept... hate the color shirt. "I'd Want One" for the idea.. but I probably won't buy due to shirt color.

A "Blueprint" version would be kick-arse.

Re: RAINBOW WIGS

This is a great idea, but I would make 2 changes:
*a different background color, like lite blue, which goes better with the other colors
*a smaller head - while the current head is funny, it takes attention away from the wig.

I actually considered both kelly and grass, but didn't like the way the pen looked on them. I didn't want to introduce a fourth colour (it's navy, ultraviolet, and silver if they'll print it, or a light grey if they won't) to fill the pen, as that sort of ruined the look I was going for. Still, thank you very much for the compliment. If I don't win, I'm considering changing the swirls and possibly using foil and submitting to threadless when the 60 day limit is up.
