Re: what some people will do to get out of jury duty

Without knowing what this derby was about and seeing your title.... this just looks odd. Like a dozen eggs that someone put disguises on. No one would get it unless you constantly explained it.

This is an Akomplice shirt. Denver-based t-shirt company who made this design big.

So yeah, check them out. http://www.akomplice-clothing.com/

That means a lot since i love a lot of the things you have done. And i do hope to at least have a high finish.... I sure could use a top 5 finish to boost my confidence.
It's so early though...and it has lost momentum.

obviously the shirt wasn't plagiarized from any of the others... so why does it matter at all? it's not like the design was stolen from someone else to make a profit. i feel like no one can claim the idea of trees from trees or trees from roots, and vice versa as intellectual property. so being obnoxious and scouring the internet for t-shirts that seem to fit some preconceived notion of what is and is not the same design, as if one is more valued as a design than another, just makes you look... well, obnoxious.

jbedwar1 wrote:agreed .... looking good. I expected it to rise faster than it is... but i think it will make its way up there.

Hope so
I tried to go for a little more contrast this time around, in comparison to last week's entry. I think a little more brightness works well with the blue (it took ages just to get the right shade of "white" for that top right paint splatter!). Hopefully more people get a chance to see and vote for this before it gets lost in the crowd of small thumbnails.

That, and making a good thumbnail for an abstract design is next to impossible! hehe

(also congrats on your design. I'm sure it'll be dipping in and out of the fog all week :-))

Re: Bokanovsky Citizen Production - 'Brave New World'

The Bokanovsky genetic engineering process in Brave New World defines Citizenship and your role as a citizen.

This is my take on the genetic/social engineering of Citizenship from this book.

"Alpha children wear grey. They work much harder than we do, because they're so frightfully clever. I'm awfully glad I'm a Beta, because I don't work so hard. And then we are much better than

the Gammas and Deltas. Gammas are stupid. They all wear green, and Delta children wear khaki. Oh no, I don't want to play with Delta children. And Epsilons are still worse. They're too

stupid to be able to read or write. Besides they wear black, which is such a beastly color. I'm so glad I'm a Beta."
