Pulled into a gas station today and the guy filling his car in front of mine was wearing The Doppler Effect. Being super socially graceful 'n' stuff, I grinned and yelled out "hey, shirt.woot!" and he looked over all quizzically surprised. Ashamed of my overly enthusiastic outburst (and doing my best to refrain from additionally lecture-shouting all proud-like "that was from the Modern Design Derby, you know. That's a walmazan, uh-huh! Second or third place, I don't remember which! Didn't sell too well, I remember, but it looks great in print, yep!"), I hurriedly filled my tank in silent eye-avoiding embarrassment and left.

Quite a few sightings in the past week or so. I shall try to recall them all properly:

Yesterday, at B'way and 13th, on my walk to work, I saw a guy sporting Friends Are Forever.

At Wizard World Philadelphia, I noted a few Woots among the crowd while I was there (Friday Only.) Sightings included Thunderbird, She is Reported to Have Said That Before, The Cheese is a Liederkranz, Cheddar Power, and Actual Cats - HOOOO.

A week ago Tuesday I was actually in San Luis Obispo CA during a visit to the left coast. In the parking lot at Captain Nemo Comics/Cheap Thrills Records, I spotted a guy wearing Unstill Life.

Also while in San Luis, I may or may not have seen a man at a distance wearing Music Is Life while crossing the street. It could have also just been a generic green swirl up the side of his t-shirt (wasn't close enough to make out if the ipod was on the bottom or not.)

I've seen a bunch in Seattle and around the Amazon campus lately. Must be summer and people busting out the tees. I saw The Cheese on a guy in the back seat of a convertible, Eat More Meat on a lady near my bus stop, and The Binge at an Amazon meeting (on a non-woot employee of course. Those don't count).

Passed a girl wearing World 1-1 Building on my way to my car this afternoon. Didn't recognize it as a woot shirt right off...not a gamer. ;)

I was working at my store wearing Meh the night I got it and this guy ran up to me and asked me when I got it. I thought he asked me where, so i went into the website but he stopped me and said when because he ordered it the first day as I did and only then did i realize he was a wooter. a dedicated wooter at that.

We were at a truck stop/IHOP in Woodhaven, Mi and someone at the counter said to my Donut Panic wearing son, "Boss shirt, Boss!" He ran back to the table, super excited...it's the first time anyone recognized a Woot shirt on him. Are we still supposed to say "Boss shirt, Boss" when we spot a fellow Woot shirt wearer? (I am old and out of touch....)

Actually the hardest part now is spotting and identifying the less-memorable shirts. I have to write down descriptions of possible ones and page through the years of Woot offerings to figure them out. Yes, some are abundant and spotted multiple times, but the ones that fool me best are where a popular artist printed at Threadless or elsewhere. I'll recognize the style, but not the design.

You should make a post too! Maybe you'll spot me?

Soooo ... you're saying I should wear Charming (walmazan), Prehistoric Family Dude (lucky1988) or Some Assembly Required (cmdixon2) just to taunt you? CAN DO!

You should make a post too! Maybe you'll spot me?

I might. It'll depend on how much of my sanity is left by Friday night. And vice versa on the spotting ... I've narrowed down my list to 30 of what I might wear at some point in the 4 days. So if you do spot a vertically-impaired (and less horizontally-excessive now) guy wearing one of the following, it might just be me. FWIW, I do answer to 'narf' IRL (but not poit or zort).

Donut Panic!
Eat more meat
Hot Dog's Identity Crisis
Fresh Cake
Tofu, Food’s Master of Disguise
By Your Powers Combined!
Unstealthiest Ninja
If I Only Had a Brain
The Last Cupcake
Cycle of Life: A Ride for Water
The Princess and the Menagerie
Say No To Scurvy
Special Delivery
The Best Thing Since
PAINata
Fallout Zoo
The Land of Lost Socks
Forbidden Future
Woot ! Logo
Toucan Sheds His Tint
You Weren't Invited
Stink Less!
Error - Cuteness Overflow
One Smart Cookie
A Rotten Prognosis

Shelf Life
Tortilla Origami
Fate of the Planet
Release the Cuddlin' (if it makes it here before I leave).
