Re: What Dreams Are Made Of

This looks really great, but I can't help but be a little bummed that someone like Edgar that does original stuff is being bumped by a design that is basically reorganized clip art. I'm not really a fan of these types of shirts even though I do admit they look nice and are very wearable.

If this didn't have dream in the title, would it have anything to do with the Dream topic? Still a great design.

Cause this one was decently popular I made a slightly better version (just a bit more detailed.) So everyone who voted for this one, please find The Things That Dreams Are Made Of (resub) and vote for that too :-)

I don't think your new one is better. The outline around the trees isn't as nice as this version.

Re: Achieve The Dream

I like this a WHOLE lot!!!! I have a woman I am working with who is attempting to come back from a spinal cord injury that has left her in a chair, but lately she has been able to ((with a lot of effort and determination) get into a walker and motor about some. This is truly her dream. I think most folks in chairs would dig it and I am all for it. I would get a half dozen. She has one already that has a stick figure doing a lap dance over the handicap logo. That's some kinda fine dreamin!!!!!

Thanks Anthony

It's unfortunate that people see this as "reorganized clip art"; if this were truly the case, I wouldn't be spending the same several hours on one of these types of designs as I did with earler, drawing-based efforts that never really ended up taking off. And I have similar sentiment with Edgar's designs. They are unique, funny, and cute - let's just say that if the shirt.woot derby was to decide book illustrations or comic strips, he'd be on top in a heartbeat.

Come to think of it, I think he would do well at Threadless, too

That's a good thing. The first one is drinking and this one is eating. I bought one and I'll buy this one too! The art is bigger here and easier to see. The colors are cool too. Voting +1

i thought the same thing...had to check and see if they were by the same artist!

Some of us never grow up. Skating keeps me young, even though I may not be "living the dream", skating is always on my mind. I hope the preview brings people to this page, to see the fun bails and makes. Good stuff. How many of these tricks can you name?

I have to disagree. The fact that so much of the clipart manipulation designs look like they were all done by the same person suggests to me that it's not really an art. The technical requirements of scanning in the clip art doesn't really constitute art either. Even with collage you're changing a lot of your source materials. Most of these clip art pieces are just the clip art positioned in a certain way and then darkened or lightened to bring it forward or push it back. Obviously it's popular and it does look good, but like I said, I still think it's disappointing that something that requires so little forethought can replace something like Edgar's very imaginative and unique designs.

I really like this concept, however, I don't know that I would wear a design that basically said my love life consisted of a hand l.ol. This might be a truism, but not everyone can handle the truth (hahaha handle did you get it? hee hee)
