You should check out gaiaonline.com sometime. They have a particular forum (breedables-changeables forum) that loves these kinds of cute creatures. =)

This shirt's "humor" or whatever it may be classified as is a pretty poor attempt.

The shovel's got shillelagh on it.

I dont belive that at all. People vote for this because its quality work.

Well there is always next year....

i think so too but i was afraid a black shirt might push it over the "goth" line

With the half skull and placement, I think you're already far enough over woot's goth line, why not go all the way with a black shirt, and some bangs. Bangs are made of win.

I like it though, it's a nice rendering. Not sure if it's too tightly packed to show up on screenprints.

Re: the Golfer

What a great design! Simple, yet quite intricate - an excellent job of capturing the relaxing gulf landscape and atmosphere.

Where can I buy one?
Would you consider selling this to me regardless of the WOOT outcome?

VOTE on this one EVERYONE!

- destined to be great

I thought about it, but this was born from my boredom while repairing Illustrator. Had I been able to use Illustrator I'd have done a drawn circle. Remember, I do everything scanned and with a mouse.

*sigh*

I need a tablet. T_T

Re: Sequoia

I like the perspective, but I think this would count as two ink colors - white and black. If you would make the shirt itself white or make the interior of the tree blue I think it would fit the rules better.

Hey Tgent, you know I am a pretty big fan of yours, but this shirt really doesn't do it for me. Too boring.

Oh well ;-)

SkekTek wrote:Thanks for the comments. But several other designs were also up there in exposure and haven't met with the same negative vote count. I think it's because this design, while technically quite good, isn't the sort of thing people want to wear on a shirt. So the fundamental flaw may have been not over-exposure, but careful consideration of the target audience.

Maybe I'm just looking for excuses. : )

Re: Hatter's House

Something about this just doesn't feel right to me. The image as a whole seems flat. This may not be important to something that is drawn as flat (like a bent paperclip), but considering this is supposed to be a very rounded and animated painting, it really detracts from the intended image to me. The illusion of depth is something that is often difficult to achieve in line drawing, but there are many tricks that might have helped here, like making lines taper as they move away from the viewer. All of the lines seem to be almost a solid thickness, including the same thickness in items like the toadstools and the roofline. Since those are so far apart, when it comes to depth, it needs some consideration in line thickness. Something as simple as different line weights and line tapering, to add some depth to the individual ojects, as well as create depth separation between different objects, would greatly increase the appeal for me.

Re: Spring Rebirth

Well drawn but other than that what's the allure of this shirt? It's a bird on a wreath and I don't mean to target Cho (your Octopus is probably my favorite design of this derby) but this is really boring.

People who hate on the cream are vocal, but a minority. I have one and love it. it's a light tan color, and the best "light" color woot offers. People really need to let the cream thing go. seriously.

Great job james....i think i like this one best of yours so far.
