I made glazed ham, potato salad, peas, and.....macaroni and cheese because my guy thinks of it as a vegetable and requested it.
Also leftover homemade birthday cake, made from his mom's recipe.
No Easter egg hunts here.
I hope you all had a most happy and blessed Easter.

Easter by my lonesome, again. Dinner was boneless country style pork ribs (garlicky pepper sauce), corn, salad, cabernet franc and cherry cheesecake. All homemade. Well, the wine was bought. ^_~

No, I graduated in December. Right now I'm finishing out my lease at this apartment (an hour away from family and boyfriend). My family celebrates Easter, but I'm not feeling inspired or pious this year.

I'm alone because...I often am. I'd say 4 of the past 6 years have been spent alone on Easter. Nobody around here seems to think twice about it. Dunno.

Don't move to NYC, an hour travel is normal.
Not by car. An hour is OK. I don't like over 2 hours.
There is a kid on the block who's mom wouldn't let him go away to school, so he drives an hour each way.
Yet she travels months at a time for her job.
That is just weird.
Plus he must be paying a few hundred for gas a month. Plus wear on the car.
We all think they are nuts.

We have a non-student day tomorrow. Half the schools will be closed as well. The principals can choose to bring the staff back early from summer so they can have more breaks during the school year. Great for them, but tricky for us to find a spot to do paperwork. Will you have a light work load tomorrow?

And invite all three of my families (mom, dad, stepmom--no longer married to my dad) plus boyfriend/his family? Yeah that would explode into ugly in my little apartment. I'll be in Japan for the next holiday...and the ones after that, until around April 2010. ^_^

Sounds confusing.

My workload is pretty much the same whether the students are there or not. I just get to wear jeans an extra day.

I'm moving to Japan, where that sort of thing is normal too. However, it will not be by car. Really I'm too lazy and my stepmom's sick. My mom's a restarant manager and had to work and my dad and I don't have the best relationship so I don't feel like driving out just to see him.

Its the largest ISD in the state. Of course its confusing! I wear jeans and sneakers almost every day, unless I have to go to a meeting. I spend a lot of time on the floor, so dressy is not practical for me.
I thought maybe your workload would be lighter if less people were around demanding your expertise.

That makes sense.
If you get a seat on the train, the commute is fine. You can read or relax.
If you have to stand , it vacuums.
I use to have to stand 40 minutes to an hour each way on the subway. Not fun.
It looks like Japan is like that.
You get use to it.

Nah, my main job is keeping us legal on software licensing. We're still rolling out the discovery software for that so I'm hunting down machines that don't have it installed. Tons yet to go on that. The other stuff is kinda on the side as needed to help people here and there.
