Thanks. It's just a side effect of not being in the hotness... you either are in there or you're not. And there's already one bear up there...

I also think it's because the colors are a bit vivid in the design. If I toned it down, it'd probably be more popular. But thanks! I liked it.

I like the design! If the blue paint spots are bird poop are the black paint spots ...? Tree poop? I don't think the poop theory holds up.
I like the extra paint!

I wasn't going to stay up. Drat! Foiled again!

critisim: i feel that the background blends into the bee a little bit to much, i suggest either making the background a lighter color or possibly putting an outline around the bee (possibly the color of the shirt)

Dude, thanks for the great feedback. Totally agree wtih your thoughts. Preciate the props too... truth be told I entered it pretty early but got no love from nobody...

snarkygal wrote:If it is the worst vegetable shirt, why did you vote anyways? That is what is wrong with the Derby...people vote just because they are friends with somebody, not because the design is worthy.

Actually it doesn't make any difference since you can vote for as many shirts as you like. I am pretty sure with the number of votes needed to win, not even James Cho has that many friends. I like No. 1's veggie designs and I always vote for them. Go eat a carrot or something Ms. Snarky. Yeah, or broccoli, that's it!

My dogs like me, that is important.

Still a fight for 10th between Andy, me and Patch. May the best water droplet, skull or cherry blossom win. Hoping James' bears get back to the fog. I really like that one. The family focus is a new one for a derby shirt.

I didn't get a chance to, but, maybe I will submit it to one of those popular sites that prints shirts for you....I don't know if I am allowed to mention other sites here so I will leave the googling to you.

Is there a 60 day limit on when I can use this design elsewhere? I don't really have an issue with it. I was just wondering if that was an official rule, and where it's posted.

It's part of the Terms and conditions document that you had to agree to (a little box you had to click) before you can submit and entry. If you didn't get a copy, you can wait until noon tomorrow when woot starts accepting entries for the next derby, and they will have the entries link operating again. Or write to woot to ask for a copy. There is a lot of stuff in there, and it would be good info to have around.

And be sure to check back at noon today to see what the next derby's theme will be.

Yay, it's been in the fog while I wasn't looking!
Poop??? that's odd... my thought was the last remaining snow; maybe some kids' left over snowballs from the shape of them. I like the extra paint too; it seems like a nice way to spread the color across the design a little more. I hope it gets printed.

Re: Pockets of Spring III

Thanks so much everyone! It will be close, but if I don't get in the top three, this was exciting and gave me a lot of experience for next time. Thanks for all your help and criticism.

By the way, this was not meant to have a deep deep meaning constructed through every detail with extensive thought…it’s just supposed to be a cool design (something you would wear on a shirt) for spring. I admit this didn't require too much artistic...skill...as it was put, but I would wear it and I will put more skill and thought into creating a better executed design next time.

Keep on voting and thanks again everyone!

Simple enough... the ground has thawed with the spring, allowing not just the flowers, but the zombies to bloom. You think a zombie's going to break through 3 feet of frozen soil to come out for christmas in canada? ;)

I'll totally buy one of these if it wins. I may even buy extras for gifts.
