tgentry wrote:Thanks 'tag. I had high hopes for this one, I'm not sure where I went wrong with it. Not enough detail, only one color? Anybody have an idea how this could be improved? I was thinking maybe "Tiger, Tiger Burning Bright" might be a good one to do with the tiger idea if I redo it. Not sure if it's worth it though.

Seriously, this design is clever, quotes something we all know, is simple and elegant... great job, be proud even if it doesn't fog...

I don't think "Portal is old" is a fair reason to reject a shirt. If the wooters think Portal is old, they won't vote for the shirt.

Thanks. Not a bad idea for a submission elsewhere. I do love the bacon cheeseburgers, but bacon would take at least one more color and I didn't want to cut anything I had in there.

The blue text seems out of place, but I like it nonetheless.

Since you've only just submitted it, you won't really lose anything if you remove this entry and resubmit it with a larger design detail. In any case, I'm afraid it's highly unlikely you'll make it very far up, given how late in the game it is!

Yes, I think you're right about that, so I probably won't bother with the resub. Ths was a good opportunity for a trial run though so no worries on where it ranks. Thanks for the feedback!

are w00t artists allowed to sell from other sites?

/if you are, and you do, let us know!

There is a waiting period (60 days, I believe) during which artistss cannot use their submissions for anything other than display in a portfolio. After that, if woot has not expressed an interest in using the submitted design, the artists are free to do as they wish. There are probably other nuances, but that's basically how it is.

Re: Nevermore

I greatly prefer this Raven; love the visual effect of the bolded text as shading! The thumbnail looks great, which tells me that the shirt will look great from afar even before anyone comes close enough to read the 'punchline,' which is always something I take into consideration. I voted and would definitely buy.

The blue type might work better if it was just on the screw part of the bulb.

I like your font choice. Very childlike which works well with the song.

I agree; this is a great, very fun first entry!
I can only hope that I can come up with something even close to this level of work, when I eventually design my first.

Thanks for the encouragement. It's unlikely I'll be entering the next derby - while it's all well and good to procrastinate NOW, I can only put off work for so long. I have a curious philosophy and work ethic - for example, I refuse to skip class but I am perfectly content to sleep during lectures. Similarly, I will put off work to the last minute, but I will always use that last minute to complete the assignment to the best of my ability (that is, the best of my ability given the compressed time frame).
