Re: 1977: 2600: A Video Game Odyssey
I'd add this to my growing collection! Go Skaght!

Gonna get rejected... Needs the year in the title.
drkblkforest wrote:Aside from the fact that woot can't print gradients, is this even allowed?
This will likely be rejected for not being PG-13. Not my personal opinion, but Woot has always rejected pot leaf shirts in the past.
Re: year of the dragon
Please resubmit with the year in the title. This is really nice.
squidboots wrote:Great design, but it would make more sense with DNA on it... Nevertheless, GMV!
There is DNA. The hexagons and pentagons are cytocine, guanine, and adenine, which are the nucleotdes that make up a sequence of DNA. By the way....this shirt is freakin sweet.
Re: 1970, Spoon Fork =
I feel like I would wear this if it was just the spork without the flashy background, or if the whole thing including the background were smaller and moved to the top corner. So big in the middle of the shirt is too much for me! But it is a very cute design.
Re: 1974 - year of the tiger
I really like this one. I've always bought tiger t-shirts... I think I'm a bit OCD about them. I would prefer this one if it were on a black shirt though. GMV anyway.
Re: 1970: Jackson 5 Make TV Debut(2)
Sometimes I am terrible with colors. Is this better? -Andy

Yeah, I'd totally go for this on black. Orange is quite hard for me to wear.
That was fast O_o Anyway, yeah, I'd say the colors are a bit better, though I think they could be better still. The thing that's bothering me with this one is the fact that the figures don't stand out against the dark background. Cleaning it up definitely helped, so you're on the right track
Re: 1988
*giggles* awesome edgar, i was born in 88 as well :D
Re: Warhol just turned in his grave -1987
GMV. This one needs to win.
Re: 1988, The Human Genome Project
i love this one!

Thanks for your opinion drkblkforest. I'm not sure what else I could do with it, so I'll just let it go. The topic would likely not attract many votes anyway. 1970 is a rough year. It's not quite as colorful as the 60's and not quite to the technical explosion of the 80's. -Andy
Re: 1986
Touching Memory... I wish this shirt would be printed because it deserves to be... even if it wins or not. Thank you for a great design.
Re: 1985--From Russia with Fun!
Impossible situation: 5 full lines. Fix it and you gmv!
superspryte wrote:I thought so but I imagine Disco looked before making this design.
It's a parody. I used no actual text found on the gameboy, and the shape is altered to not look like the Game Boy 100%. Parody = OK
Re: 1959: The year the music died.
Freakin' Awesome shirt! GMV!
dhertle wrote:I'd add this to my growing collection! Go Skaght!
I'd hit that!
wooterer wrote:Intel 8008 microprocessor chip, production started in April 1972
Wow going even further back than the ever popular 8088. I like it. I hope this or at least one circuit related ones wins. I need SOMETHING to wear to my last couple of weeks of senior EE courses here at the UMN.
PixelatedFooL wrote:Impossible situation: 5 full lines. Fix it and you gmv!
I think that was done to hide the "1985" in there. But you can still do that without full lines. :-)
Re: Tribute to PONG!
You need the year in the title or it will get rejected.
Re: 1979
damn! I want this shirt!
Re: 1979 - Rock Killed Disco
1979 is the year Disco peaked, and is also the year in which rock fans started a riot in Chicago at an anti-disco event, which is widely credited as the beginning of the end of disco. Click for large version with details Sources: Disco $ucks 1979 1979 Year in Music

me too thanks
nardobolo wrote:The album was released November 30th, 1982, so this still works. And still is awesome! (80's lingo, yo)
Yes, but the shirt is obviously memorializing the video.... dun mind me... i feel like being nit picky.

There was a photo taken and is out there somewhere on the internet courtesy of the national archives or something like that. In the high res photo you can see it's definately a rabbit
Re: 1993- Mighty Morphin Power Rangers
PAAAaaaAAaaaanCAAAAAKES! wheres the pink ranger. she was every little boys fantasy. i'd still hit it
goldfishinapicklejar wrote:*giggles* awesome edgar, i was born in 88 as well :D
I was born in 88 too and I would LOVE this shirt!!! As always I love all of edgars designs.
Re: 1986: The Legend Was Born
Wow this one is awesome.
yeeter wrote:Nice job Andy. Good choice for our year too (I mean it's sad, but good because it is pretty significant event-wise).
Good, but Jimi didn't play a lefty guitar. He played a standard strat backwards with the strings reversed so that it played like a lefty.
This is a fly shirt. Plus I was born in '88, so you've got my vote.
Re: 1977
MUST HAVE LETS VOTE! DUCK SOUP SAYS IT ALL
Interesting. Francis Collins just spoke at my college yesterday. His lecture was fascinating.
Well, the problem I see is that you can talk all day long about how these are generic items, but when people look at the items on this shirt they see rupees, health hearts, etc. And this is indisputably the purpose of the design. This makes the shirt skirt dangerously close to copyright infringement. I don't see woot being able to print this without problems.
I love this shirt! Perfect colors, composition, and such... Great job!
