AGrant311 wrote:Okay, appears to be working now. As I've been trying to say, another fantastic JadenKale design. GMV. As for Nessie, everytime I wear it, I get lots of compliemts. And the best part; people know it's the Loch Ness Monster. They don't mistake it for some random dinosaur. I would love to run into another Nessie wearer here in the Dallas area (the same suburb even as the "WOOT factory"). Hmmm, I wonder if Woot gives tours...
So far, on this derby the only ones I've voted for are this one and the Baby Carrots one. I'm not real thrilled with some of the designs, and I generally like the cutie patootie stuff.
Okay, let's all show JadenKale's jellyfish some love.

A, I just have to say, you're awesome! L O L Thanks for the love for Nessie AND the love for my jellyfish!

What about Cho's design that won this week? I don't mind resubs THAT much, but if a beatiful design like this gets rejected on the basis of resub, why aren't the others?

Well I made another =)

mrjulian wrote:You are actually all correct. All of those characters mean mother with different levels of formality. For instance, 母 is usually used in the word 母亲 (muqin), which is a fairly formal word for mother.

As for the actual design, I think the red is a little confusing. It seems like it was put there just to make a fairly boring shirt more interesting, but instead it just makes people wonder why it's there.

Okay, then I'm going to assume this is Chinese because I don't recognize the characters and I read Japanese (母 alone is mother in Japanese). So I'll take your word for it. ^_^

Very pretty. Black won't show up on brown, though.... might want to change that ink color and resubmit quickly while you have the time.

Yeah.. that's why I made the very exaggerated imagery (giant flower, hummingbird, etc) in black.. it's big enough that it should be seen, and if not at a distance at least it adds beautiful elements up close. I made the smaller details a light brown and yellow so that they would be more visible. Thank you for the compliments =)

Re: Tea Time

This reminds me of a story. A friend of ours went out to eat with co-workers, and one pair was a couple. Part of the way through their meal, the guy says to the girl, "FEED BABY BIRD LIKE MAMA BIRD DOES!" So the girl takes a bite, chews, and spits it back into the guys mouth.

There's some straaaaange people out there.

Really? I see these:

orange

red
blue
black
white
+ creme shirt

It's a big design though, and my sight has never been very good...

Edit: and yellow. Durh. Okay, too many colours. XP

It doesn't. But I see the following colours:

1. orange
2. brown
3. red
4. blue
5. black
6. white
7. yellow

+ creme shirt colour

Maybe you could replace white with creme?

You know, I was trying to figure out how I could use the "what came first, the chicken or the egg?" idea for this competition. I couldn't do it.
And yes, I did the baby egg thing in school. But I'm from the UK, so I don't know if it's standard US education. Should be.
Good luck.

I saw a couple of those. One was quite nice. That wasn't really the idea behind mine - I just thought of egg babies - part of the Canadian curriculum I guess; I think it's common in the US as well, but with sacks of flour or sugar. Actually, I hear they now use special dolls that pee and cry...

My mom died last year 5 months after her cancer returned. She was the youngest of 5 sisters. I walked in the Seattle 3-Day last year and am walking again this year. Fundraising is the hardest part!

I would buy the kitty shirt for a friend with lung cancer who Loves cats.
