I like the minimalist design of the shirt. When I draw, which is basically doodling, that is what I like to do. I think everyone needs a red shirt to brighten up their wardrobe. I liked your other shirt designs too :o)

Re: Revolution in a Can

Spent way more time on this than i probably should have. At any rate, that is Washington, Castro, Lenin, and Bismark up there, spraypainted on the wall with a stand aerosol can available at any local hardware store, the inciter of the new revolutions!

Thanks for the kind words.

I'm not sure if my design detail hides the fact that it's on red. The majority of it is the darker red, which looks like cranberry. =P

I made another design that isn't in my signature. I hope to make a few more... I know I won't win, but the grunge/distress/fatigue technique (not sure about the official name) is rather fun. It makes the design look ten times more professional. ;) I also have a few more red fist jokes in me...

Thanks mia3mom. If I made someone laugh, it was all worth it. Laughter is the best medicine, after all.

I have a different design I hope to put up tomorrow, and then I think I'm going to do one more red fist joke...

Re: Put the Bomb in the Vest

Ok, I'm not fond of your periodic table entry because the concept has been done multiple times before, but this one really made me laugh. I'm afraid that it might get rejected for being off theme, but hopefully the description you gave when you submitted is strong enough. I like the way you think. =P

Aaaargh I want this shirt so much.

Only two more to beat and it'll be #3! I don't desire any of the current ones in the fog, so this better make it D:<

Re: Robot Revolution

I went a little retro on this one... a throw-back to the 1950's/1960's paranoia movies about invading space aliens, killer robots, and ugly swamp creatures. Juxtapose that with this dark vision of the future. A time when robots wrestle control from their makers. Hope you like! Please vote!

Re: The 3 Dreamers

the phrase should be "Sois jeune et tais toi." in french, you can't pluralize "toi" to be "tois." it would be "vous," but if you do that you might as well make the whole phrase plural and write "Soyez jeunes et taisez vous." If you are going to use another language on a shirt, make sure you spell it correctly.

Hmm, now that I've looked a bit more closely, it looks like Nightmare on Wall Street is at the latter end of the fog. And this one's getting votes at a decent click.

I strongly agree. Excelent graphic. Words are par for the course. Bring out the graphic and play down the text.

llonvent wrote:I have to disagree on this. Humans have been warring since the very beginning. Over the same tired topics - religion, boundaries, pride, and money. Color me stupid, but I don't see how we're any worse now than we were back in the times of the Persian Wars, Roman Empire, the Crusades, French Revolution, World War II, etc etc etc. Peace isn't a revolutionary idea, it's an idealistic idea.

Fine. You win. He should have said "we ARE so warlike that peace is a revolutionary idea." The fact that we've always been warlike doesn't make it not bad.

Sorry for the resub. I had to adjust some of the colors. I hated to lose all those votes, but I hope everyone that voted before will again. Thanks!!

Re: Strike!

This is by far the best shirt in this derby.

I'm not sure whether or not I like the comment on the bottom. I tend to wear shirts with a joke on them about three times before I'm sick of the pun, but a shirt with just the bowling pin and "STRIKE" on it I could probably wear until I got too fat to wear it anymore.
I can't really decide because I find that the second pun is hilarious.
Either way is probably just as good as the other.

Re: Join the Revolution-- Make history.

This has my vote for being totally on-topic and having great art as well - a lot of the shirts this week seem to have one or the other, but precious few have both. Well done!

Re: Kills...

The photo of the Declaration cannot be printed. Plus putting 'Patriot Act Kills' has little to do with the theme of 'Revolution'. You may not agree with the Patriot Act, but slapping that phrase on a picture of the Declaration doesn't make it any sort of Revolution.

I like the image, but not how it cuts off at the border so square(rectuangular)ly. I would vote for it and buy it if the image somehow faded into the background of the shirt smoothly instead.

bluchez wrote:Um, yeah, this doesn't really make sense. When it comes to display on a screen, it is displaying the pixels 1 to 1 with the pixels on the screen from it's current resolution. The DPI that is specified is 100% unused when rendering an image to the screen.

The most important thing to remember is that you use a program that dithers the pixels when you scale it down, and doesn't use some type of "closest neighbor" resizing, like MS Paint or an internet browser. You should do all of your scaling and comp pictures in Photoshop or similar. You also need to make sure that you are submitting the images as a 240x240 jpg and a 600x600 jpg. I do not believe that if you submit other file types or sizes, that woot will use a good quality dithering algorithm on the submission.

thanks for the advice!
would anyone happen to know if there is any way i can replace the picture still? or do i have to cancel this and resubmit it?

It would need to resubbed. I'm sure you can imagine the confusion it would create if designers were allowed to change the images after they'd been voted on. (heh, that could be kinda fun. for a while. but, no.) FYI, if you want to cancel this one, you're going to have to do it pretty soon because that little red X (the option to cancel) disappears 24hrs after you submit.

Good luck!
