The other one would be a "maybe I'll buy it", this one is a "definitely will buy it".

Nice job.

Agreed. The text on the other one is distracting and excessive. This one is much more compact, which is a good thing.

designminion wrote:I did a similar design with the text a long time ago, but I had listed every revolution since 0 A.D. and didnt have the cool artwork in front of it, just male distressed text. Kudos to you on a great design

I probably should have done better on the revolutions, but I felt a little weird about stealing a list from somewhere. I ended up checking various countries and hand-picking the ones for the shirt. I missed a lot, sorry! I apologize for my limited intelligence, but I'm glad you all still like the shirt regardless.

Thanks so much for all the votes and wonderful comments, it really means a lot to me.

Honestly, I'd absolutely love this shirt if it didn't say "Pwned!" at the top. It's just not necessary. It makes it super silly and I don't like the "Internet geek" culture anyway. The other version of this idea is just too convoluted and it's harder to understand at a glance (something even this shirt could work on a bit), so it's ridiculously disappointing that this one has the text at the top.

I mean, seriously, mixing the geek culture into this shirt was the death mark for this design for me. Everything else about it is great.

Re: Passive Revolutionist

I am kind of intrigued, but I can't see the design. The large text is covering it.

Re: Lemming Revolution

love this design, zenne! using the shirt color as one of the major colors in the design keeps the large-ish design from being over-inked.

besides, I think lemmings are much funnier than penguins or pandas.

& the Gaggle of Girls; so many shirts, so little space in the dresser!

personnemaime wrote:Wait, your shirt says many times that you will not incite revolt, yet that seems to me to be a clear revolt against the gods of grammar. I think you need to write some more lines.

Also, it would be "if you're asking me..." and that's not Strunk and White, that's just plain old good grammar.

<3 your sister the English major

This thread cracks me up! I love the simplicity of the design. Personally, I think I would have loved the use of "shall", but I think the message works regardless of the word choice. It seems to be doing quite well with the voters already. Good job!

hmmm, joined today, has no purchases, makes a passive comment to mention a possible reason for rejection (one that only an experienced derby goer might know), and then mentions gmv when none could be given. quite interesting.

I believe that all great revolutionaries used foul language. It gets the point across. I am revolting against the "No foul language" rule.

What!!??

toe2254 wrote:would someone please explain to me why this design, which is about hackers, the revolutionaries of the computer age is off topic?

It's because people are too afraid of hackers... So they shut them up, and make examples of them. Like Kevin Mitnick.

You can get your point across much better if you sound intelligent and make your point withOUT foul language. I'm against censorship, but this has always been my personal motto.

I want to post my design but....

How can I separate all of my colors into different layers using Photoshop or Illustrator so I can submit my tee-shirt?

I made my design in Illustrator, but upon reading the rules, realized none of my layers were separated into colors.

I really have looked almost everywhere for a solution and nothing seemed to work. I'm sure there are many people here who have needed to do exactly what I need to do now to submit their tee-shirt. Please help, thanks.
