One can incite a revolution.
One can change the course of history.
One makes the difference.

Give some feedback please! :-D

Well, it is a more elegant weapon for a more civilized revolution, not as clumsy as a torch or pitchfork.

and to shan24:

What I was referring to is that I don't believe jamescho84 IS getting preferential treatment, especially in comparison to Josephus (as was implied by the poster I responded to). I was NOT arguing that you guys got preferential treatment, but I was arguing that there isn't any realistic reason that this particular user would be treated preferentially with respect to the design he was commenting on. During the time that woot messed up and gave everyone access to the mod and staff forums, I happened to notice that there were non-moderators there, specifically Josephus and shan24 (noone else that I noticed). This was not information that I knew before, and it struck me as odd.

I am seriously not trying to say that you guys get preferential treatment, but I certainly don't think that any other user gets more preferential treatment than you guys. That was my point, nothing more.

And for what it's worth (which, I know according to Josephus, is nada), all of the interesting conversations happen in the mod forums, the staff forums are relatively bland from what I saw, discussions of write-ups, etc, so don't feel left out on that one.

Ok, it's cool. I just couldn't tell what your meaning was there. No one gets preferential treatment, as far as I know! Now, here's hoping for a rejection-less derby next week for us all.

Congrats on reaching the fog Dirtius! How far away does Thursday look now? I think you’re in good shape. Your animation of the pieces is top-notch. I see the title has been questioned, but you have to choose the one you like, and looks like at least a few hundred people think you got it right. Good luck!

Re: Revolution

Though the art is strong, and the colors are interesting, I think for the common Joe on the street to look at this and get "revolution", or particularly, "join the revolution" would have to either be an art history scholar, or they read "STOP" signs as if they protest against the color red. I personally don't see the tie even with the large explanation.

Good drawing, I just don't see the theme in it.

bluchez wrote:So, I'm curious what the artist was thinking here. There are a few ways this could be taken. One, is that suicide bombers are revolutionaries (which, since history is written by the victor, I doubt they will be considered this by the world populace as a whole).

To me, the image meant that he was suggesting a revolutionary idea to suicide bombers, and that was to actually put the bombs INSIDE of their vests as opposed to outside, as to increase their "infiltration" abilities.

Any insights?

How does XBOX 360 suck? I own each of the systems and 360 is the clear winner. 1 in 3 is no longer defective due to the new falcon processors and new blu-ray systems have been announced and are in production. Gee, you seem like you really know your stuff! You lose.

(P.S. Blu-ray is just a storage medium, 360 games are already in High Definition.)

360 only has the most sales because it was launched a year early. The last I checked, 360 was at the bottom of the ranks on a month-by-month basis. Hardware wise, 360 is close but not quite on par with the PS3. The best things the 360 has going for it are Live and the larger game library.

Re: COLONIAL REVOLUTION: Red Menace resubmit

I'll spell it out: The peaceful little brown ants rule the ant colony. The nasty fire ants overthrow the ruling brown ants via violence. The fire ants are attacking and have started a fire which turns one of the ant hills into a spewing volcano which drives out and/or kills the ruling peaceful brown ants.

Evidently I didn't read what you intended to be read from your post. So, I'm sorry.
I agree, I don't really think James gets preferential treatment from woot, I never really thought much about that, myself. I'm confident that I don't either, and that was what I inferred from your post, was that you thought I did get some sort of advantage.

I didn't get to see those pages when they were open to anyone looking at them, which means that I am left wondering what they were talking aobut on the staff pages. I never even knew that there were staff pages- I knew there was something, because of the empty space beside the moderators tab that suggests that another tab ought to be there. I am disappointed that the staff pages are more dull than the moderator pages, as they are relatively dull too. There's some entertainment there, but really not as much as the EBW pages have most of the time. Most of what shan and I do there is to discuss our contest picks, and where they ought to be placed. Oh, and we get to frustrate the mods, because they cannot edit their posts there, oddly, and for some reason, we can edit our posts. pretty exciting stuff, huh?

Joe, no worries. I know it was easy to take wrong, but I honestly was just trying to answer the post saying that James was getting preferential treatment over you, and I felt that was laughable. (The staff forums made the mod forums look like a best seller, so you really don't need to envy them. For me, I noticed your name somewhere I didn't expect, so it never clicked to me that it was in only one and not the other, so I misspoke saying that you had access to both, and I apologize for that.)

Re: Join the Green Revolution

This was a really great design that for some reason just isn't pulling in the votes. I do think the first version you had posted in the comment thread was more powerful. It looked like the tree was barren. It just struck me as a strong image.

Regardless, great design and stick with it. You're sure to win a derby with those skills.
