Re: Medi Jind Tricks

Would it matter if it was in a non-star wars font? I'm not one to tattle, but I've seen a few other Star Wars references that are still floating around. This was the funniest one.

An excellent suggestion, but I tried to stay accurate to it's inspiration. Let me know if you beat world 1-4. You'll find the formating is correct.

Yes, but deliberately so. Irregardless is a semi-accepted word (that moms say), mute should be moot.

Re: Yetis Are Polite

Little known fact: Yetis are a very polite species, with their own shadow yeti governments and even yeti passports. Rarely do they leave their native lands, because they find that, in areas with small yeti communities, few people are as polite to them as they are to others.

Oh, and font free for commercial use, from http://www.larabiefonts.com/

Re: Let go of Anger

What? Not a slogan? Oh man... I spent so long lettering that thing by hand. I sure looks like a slogan to me... though it's a long one.

Argh. Looks like it's going to be impossible to compete this week... there seems to be more shirts here in the first few hours than some derbies got all total. Guess I'll just wait for next week when I can make use of my new Woot drawing tablet (which I hope will be arriving soon).

I encourage everybody to not buy a shirt in the next week in protest to this being rejected on the grounds of "that's mean". They have the right to do as they will, but we have the right to let them get stuck with 7 designs they paid for, but couldn't sell.

Re: Autograph

So I was at a Gaiaonline gathering recently and was watching poor DJ get hounded for signatures, and most of the people wanted him to sign their shirts. It wasn't the first time I had seen something like that, so why not? Autograph shirt, and cute slogan, all in one! A place for you to get John Handcock to give his John Handcock.

Josephus wrote:I like it! I really wasn't trying to steal your idea, I promise. I've been working on steampunk and gear-driven designs for several weeks, trying to put together a couple for serious entries, and this seemed like a good derby to submit to the steam, though I'm not confident that my 'as creative as you want, including hand-lettered text, but everything in your design must be part of the text forming your phrase.' interpretation is going to be accepted, though.

I didn't think you stole it. Its nice to see another steampunk one. I haven't seen them rejecting the artier ones actually -- maybe we all could have been a little more original than we thought.

Read any steampunk? I just finished Mainspring by Jay Lake. Cool idea but the plot got kinda muddy by the end.

Seriously.

Also, I'm Canadian - you have no idea how much it bugs me not to have the u's in "favourite colour".

The fact that I'll toss you a vote despite the lack of 'u's kind of grates on my soul.

Re: Color blindness

Oh come on Woot. I'm color blind. If I don't see a problem with this shirt, why would you. It's not mean. It's funny.

Unless Woot is trying to say color blind people have no sense of humor. Is that what you're saying? Because that's downright offensive.

Irregardless is not semi-accepted. It's just plain wrong. Your argument for this shirt to be funny is that the whole thing IS wrong - "irregardless," "you're," and "mute."

I would agree it shouldn't have been rejected, but "irregardless" is NOT semi-acceptable
