everyone who says this about any of james' designs needs to think about this:

All of Cho's designs have sell outs when they win, clearly showing that people who vote for his shirts want to buy them, not simply because his name is jamescho84. When james' designs stop selling out, them you can make your argument. Until then, you cannot prove he wins simply because he has such a good reputation. He wins because he has the superior designs in the eyes of the woot community.

Very cute!

I am not saying that your design LOOKS like him, because it doesn't, but the "attitude" depicted kinda reminds me of Bender :D

Re: I Scream, You Scream

Cho has become a sort of designer-brand around woot me thinks, but he has certainly got there through some damn hard work. Great illustration as always, but i fear woot is moving further and further from design into the land of cartoon images.

I like all your designs. I really like this one but, I wouldn't buy it because it is such a light color. Maybe the orange on red or something else that is darker?

Wow, everyone really loves this shirt. And I agree the idea is cute, but I just wanted to say that even though the artwork is great (it really is!) and those bomb pops look scrumptious (they do!), I will not buy this shirt.

Why?

It just reminds me of war. I've had enough war. I want happy.

Just wanted to say it. I'm sorry.

hasdgfas wrote:Beautiful shirt. Probably in my top 2-3 favorites of the Derby. I'd like the image slightly larger, but that's just a nit-pick. I've noticed image size is a hard thing to get perfect. You've done a great job with this.

True, we have an astounding artist amongst us! Cho's combination of imagination, twisted humor, and technical skill are simply amazing.

Interesting, my personal preference for myself is for smaller images, usually not centered. I especially appreciate those designs that are more lower based for my daughter--her wheelchair chest strap is a thick X across the middle of her chest and obscures a lot of designs. I am always on the lookout for shirts that will reveal themselves despite that strap.

toe2254 wrote:weird. i've never heard of such a thing and i've been doing color separations for tshirts since the early 80s.

They've been doing that on these shirts. Look at this post from Goldrkness:Mother's Day Shirt Winner They lay a base layer of white beneath the lighter colors so they don't disappear into the darker shirt. They also do this when there's a darker color under a lighter color. (which is why I try to layer the other direction and go from lightest on the bottom, to darkest on top) That doesn't ALWAYS work for me in the long run, but it does help eliminate those extra layers of unneeded ink.

Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop, and GIMP mostly, I believe. I use Photoshop primarily, Cho uses Illustrator. I'm more in the minority on the adobe vs adobe program. But with my illustrator program on the fritz, I work well with what I have.

spamhere wrote:you realize that 60% of the shirt is covered in ink

Gee, fancy that. I hadn't noticed. Somehow it had escaped my attention. :-)

What I am getting at with this design is that the Sun is big. Mindboggling big. I mean you might think that it's a long way down the road to the chemist but that's just peanuts to the Sun.

[tmbg]
The Sun is large. If the Sun was hollow, a million Earths would fit inside. And yet,...it is only a middle sized star![/tmbg]

It's an art shirt. Let it art.

If you like mythical animals, enjoy browsing my site! All of the work is my own. Why, yes, I've been doing this for a while now, why do you ask? If you're looking for my Woot entries they're here at my other site. Thank you for your interest!

No, I have a woot voter cloaking device. Only the really special voters find my designs. Congratulations for making into our special, exclusive club. My reward is purely the exquisite company I keep... who needs 300+ votes and a couple grand? Not me. I'm just designing this stuff to lose and be smug. :^)

Seriously, though, thanks for the vote and the vote of confidence.

I'm sorry. I usually don't go with the idea that people vote for shirts based on designers but this shirt is nothing close to spectacular. Your iced tea one is very good but this one is simply drawn and, in my opinion, it does not deserve to be in the top four.

I thought the same thing. Except, I thought it could be a comment on war. Drop popsicles, not bombs. Just my insight. I will buy this shirt, for that reason among others.
