Very funny. I wish I could have seen your original thought on paper. Your execution is, as usual, awesome. I luv your clean crisp detail. you always use great satire humor, i look forward to the laughs. GMV

A dreamy scene that keeps coming to my mind is the Beautiful shacks tucked away in the Lush tropical landscape of Ferngully on the Blue Mountains in Jamaica. The Homes are fequently distroyed by Hurricanes & with little or no money the families build another home right back up.Their Homes are comfortable, beautiful, sustainable. The food is fresh and plentifull, picked right off the trees.Crisp clean Creeks spiderweb the Mountain lside & provide an endless supply of fresh water. Children play, Men work & Women sing. I now realize how little one needs to have a Home that really is HOME.Sweet home between the Banana trees

AHAHAHa! yeah it is a rather bleak concept. I am going to try to submit another design tomorrow, maybe one that is a little more light hearted.

Re: Do Not Pass Go

In the game of Monopoly, the most expensive property neighbors the cheapest one. In the real world, rich and poor rarely live side by side, so this design shows the tensions of two HOMES from different social classes side-by-side.

Some objects are based on the game pieces to make the references recognizable, but the drawings are original. Some lines may be thin. As for Monopoly references, a winner from Revolution derby had Risk on it; this has the same justification

:D this was the only idea I had, but i'm half expecting it to be rejected... it's a little streched on the topic... my third derby!!

OOOH, and the wheelbarrow goes on the poor side, while the car and top hat go on the rich side (if it isn't obvious.. :| ..)

That's a VERY creative design. this is my favorite one you've done in terms of execution and style. It's not a crowd pleaser (so far) but you should be proud of a really cool looking design

There is a house in New Orleans that they call the rising sun.....it's been the ruin of many of our boys....and Lord I know I'm one.

You have successfully gotten that song stuck in my head with this design, nicely done!

tgentry wrote:Many healthy rhinos have those rib lines. Just a feature on these cool creatures. Plus this particular one has a nice big belly, so maybe that'll help ease her concern. ;)

Ooo, I'll show her that picture, thanks :D

(With all the stuff in the world to worry about, she is worrying about whether or not a drawing of a rhino is starving..???) :D

BTW, I have gotten my mom addicted to derbies. She'll never enter, but every week she anxiously asks if the new derby is up, ad what the theme is.

I really need to get working because I promised to make her a "castle" entry for this derby.

the focus of RISKy Business is on the politicians, not as much on the game. Since this shirt is focused on Monopoly, and they are known to be lawsuit-happy, it is likely that this shirt will be rejected for copyright - you may want to remove and redesign.

Re: Happy Lucky Kitty resub

Ooh, I really like this! I've been wanting a red shirt and this would be an excellent candidate! I used to be obsessed with the little "success cat" graphic in some printshop program, and I put it on the back of every card I made my parents when I was little. Good luck!

I'm hoping this is a joke entry, so you may enjoy a string of buttons. If it isn't, then please go read the derby rules and the unofficial rules before submitting again.

Re: Re-Calibrating

I really like the details in this!
Maybe it would do better on another color? It seems like creme is the go-to light color, but I'm dying for a lemon shirt, or a grass shirt with a good design. I don't know what it would work on well though, maybe white or light blue? We need more light shirt options to even out all the dark colors. Whatever, even on creme I'd buy this. Good luck!

Just open a shirt store with your animal drawings, and I'll do my part to relieve you of any work not related to awesome apparel. I'm still pinin' for the sloth/cheetah design, but this one would be excellent consolation. Seriously, how does one go about making a rhino look indifferent?

I am acctually aware that this shirt cannot be produced and is prohibbited by "The rules" but i still wanted to see how many votes i could get before it gets the axe. plus, it would be an awesome shirt.
P.S. I LOVED the buttons!
