Re: CICADA HEADS UP

Aerodino this is pretty neat! I like the texture that you used. Is it a chalk or pastel effect? Almost looks like it was smudged with pastels.....I like it!

Sorry to say, but, imo, you lose the fine detail especially around the face. I don't really like it on those options. I am a tiny bit curious about the light blue, but, it may be best on cream after all. I can't see it on the lemon at all.

Re: SPIDER WITCH

okay...cream sounds good!

Other colors of ink too?

I really love the monochromatic look of the design. Personally, I'd love to see the cranberry ink on the cream shirt.

But, you are an awesome illustrator as we've seen in the past.....so you'll definitely have something to WOW us. Can't wait to see what you submit. You'll have my vote for sure!

Oh sure, you see legs. Harmless legs. But what is it that you cannot see? Is it more dangerous? Or harmless. Let your imagination fill it in... A shirt for dark rooms.

Very nicely done, as is your other one. Voted for both, of course. I have been a longtime fan of FLW, too. It's also nice to know that if yours don't quite make it to the top 3 here, eventually they'll be available on your Cafepress site.

Sure, "42" must be serious enough for an elementary schoolish t-shirt design, yet you're far too serious (and apparently too mature since "comedy stops at grade school) of a person to actually try to understand what you're referencing.

He only reads his own type. Which i'm sure could fill a rather lengthy set of encyclopedias.

this is the problem with the derbies. People will throw anything out that might possibly resonate, and I betcha anything people are voting for this largely because he slapped a 42 on it. If that is somehow more worthy of printing than some of the work lingering below the fog, I guess I need new eyes.

toe2254 wrote:this is a really great design, whether you created the filigree yourself or not. filigree is extremely tough to do and if someone feels they can do it better themselves they should put their filigree where their mouth is and show us.

Taking care of children is extremely tough to do, as well, so by your recommendation, I will ship any children I may have off to someone more experienced than me. They will raise them, and I will take the credit when they turn out well-adjusted and successful. The kids will love me, as I will be their father, and more so when they see I entrusted them to a better parent.

Or, better idea, maybe I shouldn't have kids if I'm not willing to put in the effort myself. Just like people shouldn't design if they can't put in the effort themselves.

Veeeeery interesting.

I don't know if you have a larger, non-artifacted image of the design, but if you could stick it on photobucket or something, and post it in the thread, it might help your vote count. Always good to see something interesting from someone new

Thanks Webfoot. I'd love to say that Cafepress is a good 'runner-up' to not being printed, but I'd be lying. Given CP's prices, it's tough to sell enough shirts to break the $1000.00 payout here. It's another form of exposure, I guess. But, I've sold more 'gifty' items on cafepress than I have tshirts.

I may decide to create a spreadshirt store too now that they have increased their printing options. It'll have to wait until I'm back with all my old files on my computer.

Thanks again for the kind words and the votes. This one's never been in the hotness, so I don't know if it can move up any further by Thursday.

I really don't like it as light on dark at all. I'd try it on cream, personally. good luck - you can't please everyone! but heather grey is not apparently a good choice for non-distressed images
