Re: I don't like wearing shirts
This is not incidental text, and it is not an oxymoron.
Re: COLD SWEAT
sweat can be cold :O
Re: Vegetarian Hamburger
I think this one is my favorite
Well I have a hand full I like the junk food ones but I also like the kille with kindness and the freezer burn ones but I think I can only limit myself to maybe one a week if its good. Inless its really special.
peppersagooddog wrote:was speaking entirely to the artist andy, no worries you arent missing anything
Well you posted it in a public forum. Not trying to be nosy.
Re: Negative Growth
this is so amazingly original! we have NEVER had anything LIKE it here! gee willikers i cant WAIT for this to print.
klswoot wrote:Thanks guys (and gals) It's not about being nice. Although, I appreciate your compliment. I actually understand the poster's criticism. In most cases, I'd feel the same way if I saw a relatively simple design in the fog. But, given the derby setup, I thought this was the kind of 'design on a fly' idea they had in mind. I still expect one of the woot heavyweights to design something phenomenal in the next 24 hours and blow the fog away tomorrow. Still...I rather like minimalism...so I actually like my design.
I liked your design too, and I am disappointed that you pulled it. I liked the Matisse feel it had and the color contrast. If you are adding to it, don't do too much, imo.
Re: Sky Blue Scarlet
Thats actually rather funny.

Thanks MJC. No worries. This isn't really the kind of derby that I enjoy designing for. I won't be submitting to the Tuesday one given other commitments. But, I may have one 'worthy' entry for this derby leg by tonight.
My favorite thus far!
Re: friendly fire
"Friendly fire" is an awful oxymoron. Hopefully this is a nicer take on that phrase.
Re: Contradiction Committee discussing recent event
Soft Rock, Love Devil, and Cannibal "Beef" Hector are first to arrive.
Re: Automatic Drawing
The term for this type of drawing is called "automatic drawing." The term itself is oxymoronic because people usually set out drawing on purpose.
Re: Variation On Tough Love
Yet another derby entry based on the oxymoron "Tough Love." Many people seem to be using this one, but haven't done it quite like this.. yet... the placement is meant to be on the opposite side of the wearer's heart, so that it look like tough love is challenging erm... not-so-tough love...?
mjc613 wrote:Woot may consider this a celebrity likeness.
But is he a celebrity?
Re: Stop Motion
I think it is cool. I like the colors.
leenowell44 wrote:i still think it's an awesome design and a good example of thinking of a different oxymoron besides the typical ones. good job in my book
thanks a lot. I really appreciate that. I probably brought the Angelou reference on myself with the title, but I'm always trying to think up catchier titles than the obvious. Maybe that was the problem... it was more obvious this way
Re: Killed with Kindness (2)
I hope this wins. I want to buy it for real.
Re: [url=http://shirt.woot.com/Derby/Entry.aspx?id=20433]
This is awesome. Got my vote and I will be sorry to see it rejectorated.

Re: Pour My Heart Out Out
I wish this had realistic colors.

Thank you! <3 And thanks for the vote! <3 (I think? <3)
epic though i would buy the cannibull standing alone too.
Re: Tough Love
just a clarifcation.... thats a heart he's eating... the image just came out in a weird quality (its my first design)
I have heard people say this in conversation some times. I hope I do it justice.
Re: Educational Television
*giggles*, it looks very retro. like, '50s ish. gmv.
Re: Hmm. We didn't literally mean drive thru window...
well, that's not an oxymoron, just taking a phrase literally...cute design though.
mtol wrote:I think you're right... but it seems that this entry is not alone in the misunderstanding of oxymoron.
You are correct, I gave up counting at 20 shirts that don't understand the meaning of oxymoron. I think there may be a lot of rejected designs tomorrow.
morgantj wrote:I hope this wins. I want to buy it for real.
thanks, that's awfully nice of you.
greygore wrote:You are correct, I gave up counting at 20 shirts that don't understand the meaning of oxymoron. I think there may be a lot of rejected designs tomorrow.
that would be assuming woot gave a Manos, the Hands of Fate about what people enter. they dont 90% of what should be rejected wont be, there is NO consistancy welcome to our frustration
I like what I see, keep on keeping on.
Re: Looks like we've got some fire-breathing whatsits
heehee, I laughed a little when I saw this. gmv, definitely the best take on this idea :D
the halftones give it a cool, faux-glow effect, I love it :D
Re: Light-HeavyWeight
This is my take on Light-HeavyWeight....Please vote...I think it looks cool on black!! Thanks
Re: Cold Flame
I like this. Nice illustration.
riffmaster18 wrote:thanks, that's awfully nice of you.
"awfully nice" hmmm, that kind of reflects this design too.

I paint, but all I see if a tube of toothpaste... >_<; Good idea though; I never understood that color.
A little different....I like it..
Umm. This is cool...Just could not wear it...The whole rainbow thing would get me beat up...
Re: An Ugly Beauty
There was a nature show that my family loved called "The Beauty of Ugly". One of the creatures that was profiled on the show was the vulture. They believed that the vulture was considered so ugly that it was beautiful. Don't know if you also agree, but here's a vulture shirt for your consideration. Thank you for your vote.
